Point is, potential is just that - potential. I'm definitely excited for DPE's future, but there are a LOT of playmakers on this team who hopefully are given a greater chance to shine by the schemes that our new staff implements.

How many of these guys earned All-American honors after their freshman year though?

DPE's start reminds me of Abdullah's, but significantly better. He maintains a similar work ethic, it's scary to think what he can accomplish here. I'll try to use this lightly, but he could be like our own Percy Harvin or a modern day Johnny Rodgers!

I think people quickly forget how high we were riding after destroying Kansas State and moving up to #4 in the country. Then the injuries happened, and the potential was never realized.

Definitely Burkhead for me. I remember being super psyched after seeing footage of him playing hs football in Texas. Then he looked good immediately as a freshman.

Remember it? I was there and couldn't get off that high. Man the "what ifs" that are out there without the injuries.

Also Suh. I remember how excited I was when we signed him. He definitely had some potential coming in and showed flashes of what was to come as a freshman.

But as the season wore on we saw, as we do with most freshman qb's, those chinks in the armor. With DPE, he didn't really get enough touches to make many mistakes. Therefore the possibilities and what ifs are unlimited

Wow, "lightly" wasn't light enough.... Those are some high expectations, but anything is possible.
