Red herring homie. Tons of quarterbacks, even at schools with great quarterback development, do this. It's rather common.

For instance, Jameis Winston and Johnny Manziel both had offseason quarterback coaching outside of their respective schools.

Andrew Luck, Cam Newton, Ben Roethlisberger, Philip Rivers, Braxton Miller, Johnny Manziel, Tajh Boyd and others all went to George Whitfield Jr at some point in time during their respective off seasons over the years. It isn't uncommon at all.

Bowfin's got a point, though. The guys you guys listed all won Heismans, very nearly did, led their teams to BCS games, or are NFL franchise QBs. The one he listed had glaring mechanical flaws and his teams never lost less than four games.
Last year we has the same problem with TA. QB teaching and progression was garbage at NU under the old staff.

It illustrates how important QB play is to successful teams, and big a factor it was in Bo teams never getting over the hump.

We were no closer or further away with Joe Ganz and Taylor Martinez than we were with Cody Green and Ron Kellogg.

I haven't heard the interview but I remember someone referencing it.
If that's the case, it casts further doubt on my perception of Brown as a good Christian. For me, a good leader is someone who stands up for their principles and adapts their beliefs as times change of new material comes to light. Seems to me that even if Bo is allowing Brown to continue his ministry, he still wouldn't be someone who turns a blind eye to someone calling a final team meeting berate the administration. Disrespect is disrespect in any language and calling someone a cunthursday is disrespectful.

If Brown made the calculated decision to follow that mouth breather because it allows him to devote energy to his ministry, it only makes me question his principles even more.

You don't think he's a good Christian because he's trying to use a less-than-perfect situation/man to further his own desire to show people Jesus?

Does that mean that Christians shouldn't use the internet? After all, the internet contains pornography and has caused people to kill themselves.

Does that mean that Christians shouldn't wear Nike or buy Macs or eat chocolate? After all, those products come at least in part from slave labor.

Does that mean that Christians shouldn't work at public universities? Those universities probably promote worldviews that are against Christian doctrine.

It's called trying to redeem a situation that ISN'T devoted to the cause of Christianity, and using it towards that cause anyways. I don't get how that is a knock on someone's Christian faith.

I don't know Ron Brown but since this is the internet and we're allowed to anonymously speculate about peoples moral fiber, I voiced my opinion. It is odd, to me, that Ron Brown followed Pelini. Their character traits don't seem to match. And if Brown is using pelini to "further his own desire to show people jesus" and "trying to redeem a situation that isn't devoted to the cause of Christianity," then I question his principles. If this is so important, go be a effing preacher, not a football coach. Brown is a coach because his megaphone is louder and that irritates me. Maybe it's not a knock on his faith, maybe it is, but whatever it is, Brown made the strategic decision to take a position that allowed him to stay in the public eye seemingly in contrast to the life of a humble preacher.

It is probably very easy to complain about the bosses that are gone in order to explain why, in this case, guys on the team didn't play. That is even more true today when the sense of entitlement to "what you want when you want it in the color and texture you want it, never mind whether it is deserved or not" is rampant. But there are beginning to be a LOT of indications that "coaching up" players did not occur as we might have hoped. Joe Keels is quoted, my translation, as not knowing why he didn't get on the field. It reminds me of Osborne saying that all players were graded when on the field for game or practice. There are indications that did not happen under the two previous coaches. This is very interesting..

Opinions are like a-holes, buddy. I don't agree with that.
Even if Bo magically found a way to actually prepare his teams and not have his D fall apart against Wisconsin, we weren't winning anything of substance with that level of QB play.

If anything, Green was an example of the horrible mismanagement of QBs under the Bo regime.

Courtney Love might not be the best example.

He redshirted his first year so presumably he was on the scout team not getting many reps if at all. Then last year was his RS FR year so then he would get reps I suppose. You could be right though. I have no clue as to the inner workings to a Pelini practice.

They didn't feel second string could step in and do better.... Because they weren't getting any reps?

To be fair, Bray didn't say it was 2nd stringers. For all we know it was a walk on
