Friday Night Lights - Huskers Revamp Summer Camp Setup

The new staff will run a series of three hour camps as opposed to the multi-day camps the previous staff ran.

The major events - for top prospects - will be two "Friday Night Lights" camps on June 5 & 12 from 6-9 pm both days. They will coincide with a continuation of Big Red Weekends (started by the previous staff) on June 6 & 13.

There will also be other camps open to any high schooler. They will also be three hour camps running 1-4 pm each:

  • Linemen - June 1 & 8
  • QBs, RBs, WRs, LBs & DBs - June 2 & 9
  • Kickers, Punters & Long Snappers - June 5 & 12

Youth camps: Grades 3-8 - June 3 & 4 and 9 & 10 - 9am - Noon both days

Does this mean that the staff considers all kickers, punters, and long snappers as top prospects? #SpecialTeams
 
Beatrice TE/LB Cameron Jurgens was apparently pretty impressive at camp this week. The freshman - Class of 2018 - is already 6-3, 227, started at TE and LB last year for Beatrice and won the Class B Discus and got third in the Shot. Second best Discus mark in the state - all classes. Got invited to come back for Friday Night Lights. Sounds like he may be getting an offer tomorrow.

Could we get our first 2018 commit before our first 2017 commit?

Added a bunch of names to the lists in Post #2. There were supposedly about 200 campers tonight but the ones in the list are the only ones I've found names for. I thought this was mostly supposed to be for upper-level prospects - and there were some good ones - but obviously most of these guys aren't going to get offers.
