Not encouraging from my perspective.

Wants to follow the lead of Alabama and Norv Turner.

It's very matchup based, not system based.

Hah. Not trying to stir the pot.

I will say, it's disappointing seeing Benning go the way of skip bayless, and more so Stephen A, with his "I have a personal relationship with XYZ so trust what I'm saying" approach to journalism.

Norv Turner won two Super Bowls as an OC, so is there something super specific you dislike or just the philosophy?

JEEBUS, CM!

THIS THREAD EPITOMIZES YOUR HATRED FOR MIKE AND YOUR UNDYING LOVE FOR BO! WHY DO YOU SAY BO IS COMING BACK? I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU JUST SAID YOU HOPE MIKE BREAKS A HIP AND HAS TO CALL IN PLAYS FROM HIS LIFE-ALERT! WHY ARE YOU SUCH A DOOSH BAG?! WHY DO YOU PAY SO MUCH IN TAXES?! YOU'VE LAID EGGS INSIDE MY BRAIN!! GET THEM OUT OF MY HEAD!!

AAAAAAUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!

What were Benning's takes?
It's sort of a long discussion to summarize, but essentially he had a sit down where the coaches explained how they looked at packages used by various coaches and want to implement those in an effort to maximize what their players can do.

For example, they looked at how Alabama beat Michigan state and it was with a lot of short/screen passing, so they want to install "packages" for that part of their game.

Not bad in theory; I just don't think it works very well in the reality of college football.

Riley has always been a screen/short pass kind of guy so nothing is really changing. Grasping at straws if you ask me!!!

Then Benning was lying or grasping at straws too.

Or, more likely, Riley has always offered an "anything you want to eat" approach to offense, which is why his offenses have never been particularly impressive.

i think it's probably a good idea for people to listen to the segment themselves before going with 2nd hand commentary here...
