That just is not going to happen anymore. Youth is dominating coaching now. Every coach wants to be a head coach at a big time program or in the NFL.
Coaching is a lot like the recruiting deal. If your head coach is dedicated to staying a life time, why would you stay, if you can upgrade your pay status.
Coaches leaving indicates that the head coach has made it clear he is staying for the long haul normally. The days of Bobby, Tom and JoPa are over guys. Who ever pays the best and has the best chance of winning is where they are going, see Urban Meyer or the dork at Alabama.

You're absolutely right , that is a true story. A story that is unfortunate and beneth what this program has been for a long time. Nebraska players (even the 90's) usually arent the fastest, the strongest, or the best athletes in the country, it was the drive and the dedication that made us great. Heart is the number one thing missing in college football today. To many spoiled brats. To many people lowering the bar to get an edge and get a bigger piece this "big buisness". To be different we have to be willing to be different, and it starts with the coaches.

What kind of coaching turnover has USC had in the past 5 years? I know they lost I believe their OC, but have they lost many others? Mack Brown showed his DC the door a couple years back, but has Texas seen many coaching vacancies? OU has lost a ton of coaches over the past 5 years, and I believe that's why they've struggled a bit. I guess I'm asking because I never hear of programs like Michigan, Ohio State, etc. losing many/any coaches. I'm not saying NU is unique in any way by losing more than our fair share of coaches, but I think there are still some schools with great tradition that find a way to keep their personnell.

You're absolutely right , that is a true story. A story that is unfortunate and beneth what this program has been for a long time. Nebraska players (even the 90's) usually arent the fastest, the strongest, or the best athletes in the country, it was the drive and the dedication that made us great. Heart is the number one thing missing in college football today. To many spoiled brats. To many people lowering the bar to get an edge and get a bigger piece this "big buisness". To be different we have to be willing to be different, and it starts with the coaches.
Actually, it starts with your Athletic Director. He's the one that hires the coaches. These coaches we have now aren't interested in being different. This is why we're running a pro style offense and trying to catch up to other programs. If you want NU to be different than other programs, I think you're going to be disappointed.
I believe SC has lost 4 or 5 coaches in the last two years.
I think Michigan and Ohio State keep it a little more quiet.
But if you were to ask a SC fan how many coaches Nebraska had lost they would not have a clue.
We pay a lot closer attention to the names of ours than others do I think.
I think losing coaches in some respect is positive if they are replaced by younger more dynamic coaches. Coaches leaving for better jobs indicates that the Head Coach has done his job. He is not only teaching players but junior coaches. I know he is not paid for the latter, but it is happening. It is a positive if the NFL or other programs think that highly of our staff. I know Pete Carrol has nothing but positives when it comes to BC and his staff
