question about "GETTING IN".

I think that I may have asked this same question a few years a go or so......or maybe not. But what are the chances of getting in the stadium by buying a ticket to a fan who as 1 left standing outside of the stadium. A guy I used to work with said that he used to stand outside the gates and eventually someone with an extra ticket or an unsuccessful scalper would offer 1 ticket up. Even for big games. I am not talking about buying one from a scalper. But I would like to be present for the USC game because I never been to a "big" game before. Has anyone ever tried this?? Would it be worth trying it?? Or should I stay my @ss in Omaha and watch it on the tube.

I would be willing to be there is no chance in hell of getting into the usc game without being a student, a season ticket holder, paying an arm and a leg for them on ebay, or getting them handed to you from a friend who cant go.

There's always a chance.

Normally i would say yes, but for USC.....there is absolutely no chance. If there were, I'd be there with you, but I'm gonna "stay my a$$ in Overland Park" and watch it on the tube!

Has anybody ever done this before?
Yes, but I've had much better luck just going to the SW corner of the stadium and just find couple of scalpers and compare prices to where the seats are, Unfortunately there are a few "less desireable" seats in Memorial. (I'd still sit there) Usually thats all that makes it to the door, but even those wont make it that far for USC.

How bad are the scalper prices compared to ebay, ticket brokers, etc...etc..

I'll take that bet. How much are we betting? I had a friend who made it into the Game of the friggin Century by doing just what is proposed. He and another friend went down there and just walked up and down in front of the stadium. 5 minutes after the opening kick off, they bought two tickets for 10 bucks a piece. However, 10 bucks seemed like a lot more in the 70's. There will always be scalpers who are greedy. They always have and always will get caught with an extra ticket or two. It's amazing how much cheaper a ticket is once the ball has left the tee. Again, I'll take the bet!

Most of the time unless its a huge game you can get them for face or maybe an extra $10 a ticket, as long as you are willing to walk away, its like buying a used car, they can smell desparate a mile away and will have no shame screwing you. I always stay at the SW corner cause most of those are people who already have a seat for themselves and can't wait to get back inside so look for someone who looks impatient.

Head up to Callahan's Bar and Grill up on 87th (b/t Pflumn and Quivira). Always a huge Husker crowd. Just get there early for the USC game as there will be NO seats (was like that for Tex....I showed 4 hours early and barely got a seat.

I think it was a coincidence, but it's an awesome place to be on game day in O.P. A lot of fans pack that place and they have decent beer specials.
