Fastest Freshman?

rkhufu7

Special Teams Player
Corenski Gilleyen. 10.53 in the state of Texas vs prime competition in class 5A. His times are faster than Paul or Prince. He just ran vs better comp. They are all fast, he is just faster.

10.22 is really fast. Anthony Blue ran a 10.4 100m, I think Paul was about 10.6, Kenny Wilson is about 10.4 also. There is some serious speed coming to town. Paul, Prince, Gilleylen, Blue, Mendoza, etc. Nice.

Running fast in an unobstructed lane is nice but the players also need the ability to get free and that is where the coaching and practice comes in to play. There is a lot of potential there and we will see the benifits of recruiting these types of players.

GBR

Speed is definitely awesome, but the ability to accelerate, cut, and continue to accelerate is just amazing. Crouch, Ismail, Sanders, Walker...there are many, including more from Nebraska, but these guys stand out at the moment.

Gilleyen has been singled out by Coach Callahan and others as a true deep threat. I look forward to him hauling in numerous TD passes this year and in the future.

A few years ago so was Fluellen, but he popped a hammy every time he tried to run. Hopefully "The Cure" (that's my nickname for him since I can't remember how to spell Curinekickski Gillgnenhhleyn) does some stretches before he hits the field.

True

Word from the team is that not only is Curenski the fastest Freshman, but he's the fastest overall player on the team. The guy has speed to burn, folks. Him and Niles could very well be the best WR tandem in the whole nation by the time that they're both starters.

^ wonder if that means "faster than a healthy bowman"

If so we are going to need to replace our field cuz that kid will be burning it up every time he goes deep.
