..until a Husker staff, and I’m persuaded Mr Frost will,  decides it’s ALL important to shift all available assets and time to a offensive lineman production, QB play speculation is meaningless.. when was last time the Huskers had consistently put ANY linemen (offense/defense) in the NFL with regularity..? ..about the same time they were winning a bunch of games..most folks here at not old enough to perhaps even see 1 lineman other than SUH go in the NFL..

Callahan recruited a number of o-linemen that went on to play in the NFL, Matt Slauson and Lydon Murtha are 2 that come to me off the top of my head.

I think he could be a game changer in the sense of possibly winning big games against Wisconsin and Ohio State.  Hopefully..

Frost makes A LOT of use of numbers games.  Maybe almost exclusively.  Will almost always have at least three wide receivers, maybe more.  If you only leave six guys in the box, it'll often be a run play either because they know how you're lining up to defend them or via an RPO.  If you put seven guys in the box, they'll throw.  And so on.

Try to find the best matchup based on what the defense is doing and get the ball to someone with space to work.  Put your guys in a position to succeed.  What a concept.

True but he will be facing better defenses than he seen at UCF.  I think our offense explodes in year 2 under Frost.

Cue the semantic argument but ...... now?

On the offensive side, Richie Incognito, Alex Lewis, Spencer Long, Brent Qvale, Jeremiah Sirles, Matt Slauson and Zach Sterup are all on rosters and Givens Price is on the Redskins' practice squad.

On defense, Maliek Collins, Jared Crick,  Suh and Vincent Valentine plus Randy Gregory if you want to count him.

I mostly wanted to respond because Tommy Armstrong earned more respect than that, though.  He did a lot, relative to what he could do with the hand he was dealt at NU, as evidenced by the excerpt below from Huskers.com.  I feel like TA could have been a Heisman contender in a better program.  As it was, the first two MR seasons could have been a lot worse.  I've seen it argued that TA was the wild card that made Riley's offense viable during that stretch (because other coaches had already figured it out).

I’d take lord, crouch, frost, fraizer, MickeyJo, and Steve Taylor over any qb we’ve had in close to two decades.

Tommy was NUs game changer at that time because they built that offense tailored to only his strengths. Obviously if he had a bad game, we’d lose. He won games that without he we may not have, tough as nails, and earns respect for how he played the game. But I’d slow down on the heisman talk. If any of the qbs mentioned above got as many attempts... don’t think their numbers would be close. 

Also, you can’t tell me you’d take a handful of qbs the big 10 has had over tommy and Martinez during their playing time. Tommy was better than Taylor but let’s slow down with heisman talk here.
