Yes, there was not a lot of positives to take away from our loss to USC. But Keller had a good game in a losing effort. I enjoyed watching Keller give it his all until the end. Gameball for Sam.

Nebraska quarterback Sam Keller's 389 yards passing was the seventh-most allowed by a USC defense in school history. Keller surpassed UCLA QB John Barnes' 385 yards in 1992 but fell short of Wisconsin QB Ron VanderKelen's 401 in 1963.

Kicking ItUSC kicked off twice against Nebraska because after the Huskers won the opening toss, the Trojans mistakenly asked to "kick."

A stunned ref asked the Trojans again and was told, "kick."

So USC kicked off twice.

Keller was playing very well and got us a 10-7 lead. After the delay from the unfortunate injury, things didnt go as well.

 
Minus the two incredibly important game changing interceptions he threw, he played ok.

Why are we constantly only looking at the "good things" (dubious distinction in this case, IMO) and not taking a microscope to the bad things? The only way to get better is to fix the mistakes, not say "well one guy played ok if you look at the numbers and completely discount the timing of his critical mistakes."

Not trying to harp on Keller (obviously the defense was pretty porous) but you guys need to be a little bit more critical.

Not taking a microscope to the bad things??? Have you read any of the 10,000 posts on this board since Saturday. People are ready to fire the entire coaching staff and bench all of our defensive starters. Can we have one thread to discuss the only bright spot from Saturday: The fact that Keller came out and played well, which I had my doubts about after he lost his cool a few times at Wake Forest. Also liked that he kept plugging away after the game was lost. Shows some character that might make a difference in games down the road.

Keller is a top notch QB. He would start in all but maybe 10-15 programs in the country. The yards are overstated since we HAD to throw but it still is a nice feather in his cap.

Keller should continue to blossom.

One of those INT's was his fault the other was tipped and a linebacker picked it off...........two totally seperate incidents. If he had thrown the other one like he did the first then I would understand what you are saying.

Yeah, that's like telling everyone that your wife left you for a better-looking, more successful wealthier man....but you found $20 under the couch when she took it.
