Those last two losses sucked the life out it for me. I’ll keep tabs on recruiting and hope Frost comes up aces. Maybe next year they can get to a bowl...

I have tickets that family uses. I don’t want to sit in the stadium watching that crap show. I want Frost to win, but I’m worried he’s surrounded by some bozos at key coaching positions.  I’m betting heavy on Whisky. NU has been consistent winners at the casino thanks to their suckiness.

Frost said yesterday that Hickman was their best perimeter blocker. So why has the corpse of Noa and Williams been trotted out there every game. There are probably so many big plays negated by those two this year that I guarantee we win one or two games because of that. Think of how many times Wan'dale or Mo was crushed behind the line because of missed blocks by a WR. Don't get me started on Rhamir. Frost and Held have been so full of s#!t when it comes to playing him.

The Davis twins have regressed and are now personal foul prone each game because of it. Thomas, Green, Robinson, or Rogers are not good enough to at least play a down when those two are obviously winded from being driven back 5 plus yards a snap?

NPG was also talked about all summer, as well as Myles Farmer and Javin Wright on how athletic and quick they were at picking up the playbook and how NPG ,in particular was one of the hardest hitters. So now when the season actually happens we can't use them to at least try and stop the run because our LB's run like they are wearing roller blades out there? Again, the staff's words being meaningless.

Way to not comprehend what I am saying. I’m not bitching I am stating facts. When the coaches say Hickman has been the best perimeter blocker, than why the hell has he not been playing? Why is Noa and Williams still playing if Hickman is a better perimeter blocker, which those two are supposed to be in charge of in multiple sets? If Rhamir is as good as advertised and Held/Frost can’t stop giving him rave reviews why waste him playing one snap a game and not just play him? Instead they continuously put Robinson and Mo, when he played, in positions they were not comfortable with and that’s running between the tackles. Teams that win play their best players and when this staff paints themselves into a corner by saying who their best players are and how good they are, but then don’t play them, well that is going to start raising questions.

I think you're a bit short sighted here.  You're making a false equivalency of good at blocking = best players.

Well considering Noa and Williams can’t receive or block, I would say if Hickman can block than he is already a huge upgrade.

My Gawd guys listen to yourselves.  Two years ago, we would be world beaters in a few months, almost voiced by every poster on this site.  No chance it wouldn't happen.  Well it hasn't but there isn't a single person on this board that wants to win more than Coach Frost.  We have to give it time.  He is fighting a lot of fronts and the fans turning against him is not helping.  What if a potential recurit is reading this, the major fan thread on the internet.  What does it say about loyalty, dedication by what is still the best fan base in the country.  It really is our only claim left, and it seems that is going by the way side quickly.  Please real it in, give it more time, Big Red til I'm dead.

It’s a very big part in this offense. Troy Walters preaches “No Block, No Rock” so if Noa and Williams can’t block why are they playing? They don’t excel in the receiving part either. So why not play the guy who actually excels at 1 of the 2 things needed, and the one that Walters preaches upon the most? You can bold and enlarge your font all you want to make yourself feel better it still doesn’t change what the coaches themselves have stated multiple times.

Yes, it has been miserable. Extremely miserable. If I could find a word to rhyme with miserable I would write a little poem for you to express how miserable it has been. But nothing else rhymes with miserable.

The staff was able to see in practice as the season went on that Hickman was consistently the best blocker......week after week.

They still want to preserve his 'shirt.

Two years ago I would have given anything to have a 4-8 season but with Frost as head coach in doing so. Why? Because of the bolded sentence there. Because a Riley 4-8 or any outsider coach for that matter is different than a Frost 4-8. This means more to Frost than any of us. We all might be die hard Husker fans, some may be Nebraskan's, but how many can say they also played for Nebraska and not only that, played for Nebraska in some of it's best years? When Frost talks, it's nice because it isn't coach speak, what he says is what he means. Frost will get things going in the right direction, but lets say he doesn't. As frustrating as it is, I'd rather have this ship go completely down with one of our own then some outsider who comes here collecting a hefty check and then goes elsewhere to coach afterward.

Frost is still a very young head coach. He inherited what he inherited and that inheritance has become glaring obvious. But Frost is still learning and let's give him all the time in the world that he wants and needs. It'll get going and things will turn around, but there isn't a guy I want more as a head coach than Frost.

If they start, then they block just fine.  Otherwise 'no block, no rock' would have them on the bench.  Maybe the guy you want to start doesn't know the playbook or runs poor routes.  YOU HAVE NO IDEA why.  Stop making crap up.

Stop trying to create a controversy when there isn't one.

Have you watched our games this year? Have you watched Noa try to block someone? Have you seen how many screens get blown up compared to last year even though we have better talent running those screens in Wandale? 
Also I don’t care who starts but when the person isn’t getting the job done and the guy on the bench is the best perimeter blocker per the coaches themselves and our offense thrives on getting out in space, maybe the grad transfer and JUCO dud needs to ride the pine as we look down the barrel of another losing season. My annoyance isn’t with who plays and doesn’t, my annoyance is with the staff continuously saying how close this player is or how good this player is or how this player blocks the best or how this player hits the hardest, but using them in ways that seem like an absolute waste or not using them at all.

I also assume he knows how to count, but when the RB comes out for a single play I don't know that they run and ask him who should go in. And when the playcall doesn't involve the RB, I don't think it's crazy he wouldn't have noticed Rahmir being out there for a play. But Frost either forgot or didn't realize Rahmir had been in one of the games, so I'm assuming Held told him to run out there - just curious if that's actually the case.

I imagine the position coaches are making the call on who goes in unless they planned on someone going in for a series. However, I'd imagine Frost knows who's on the field as he's calling plays.

I don’t know quite how to say this, but my biggest concern is our head coach’s detachment from the defense. He delegates and there seems to be no accountability other than “we’ve got to do a better job as coaches” (and players and equipment managers). His curt “I don’t call the defense” answer sticks in my craw like a dry, unbuttered biscuit. I feel like Frost is an OC and not a HC and that is costing the team in multiple ways. I also am starting to feel like his evaluation of some of his assistant coaches is colored by UCF’s magical undefeated season, which made him believe he had the greatest assistant coaches in the world. They are not translating well to the BigTen so far and, while I can see some playmakers wanting to play in Frost’s offense, I see recruiting Blue Chip defenders as a huge problem until we get a defense that isn’t going to showcase embarrassing games and make mediocre teams look like world-beaters.

Yep, I've watched him miss AND I've watched him succeed in blocking people and do a great job.  In fact, I'm not the only one that noticed.  Scott Frost also said he did a good job:

SO, which is it?  Should I believe someone on an internet board that Noa can't block and sucks and believe this NARRATIVE you are so adamant about spinning?  Or should I trust in our coaches who see him every day and review film and KNOW what he brings to the table.

Blocking isn't all a receiver does though in your book though right? So read the rest of the article how he had a grand total of 0 catches through the first two games. Real solid production against two of the weakest teams on the schedule. Now find me any recent article where Frost gives him or Williams praise for those blocks. Or show me where their stats are jumping and warrant them starting. Why not talk about Noa's fumble against Indiana that led to them going up by two touchdowns or WIlliam's still not knowing how to line up correctly and costing the team.  When the most recent interview with the head coach is him saying Hickman has been the best guy at the position in terms of perimeter blocking, something has to change and should have changed. If the head coach is flat out saying a true freshman is a better perimeter blocker than a senior grad transfer and a JUCO with 2 years in the system and those two guys have a whopping 258 total receiving yards, than it is absurd to not play Hickman over them because it can't get worse than what they bring to the table. You can believe the coaches words from after GAME 2 about Noa, but I will believe the stats from the rest of the season.

We're better off in the long run if Hickman can keep his year.  Simple as that.  Especially since he'd been injured.
