Quit trying to make "fetch" happen. :laughpound
I wouldn't say that Ireland has a similar climate as Nebraska's.
Where can I buy some of the old turf? Dog yard with Huskers field turf = awesome
TA said they considered grass, but it was much more expensive considering maintenance, etc.
"HOW TAXPAYERS GET FOOLED ON THE COST OF AN ARTIFICIAL TURF FIELD"
"Taxpayers have been getting hoodwinked by bogus analysis into thinking artificial turf fields are cheaper than natural grass."
"But the reality is that non-partisan studies have shown the exact opposite--natural grass fields are a bargain compared to artificial turf due to the huge costs taxpayers get stuck with to maintain and replace artificial fields after their warrantees expire."

....... It seems Nebraska likes to do a lot of stuff in the stadium to show off for recruits. .....
please explain ....... "FieldTurf has an 8 year warranty". I thought 2 or 3 years warranty, tops. The athletic department knows what the costs are - they've been doing this for decades. There is no 'after their warranties expire' involved in this. FieldTurf has an 8 year warranty. Why do you think we're replacing it about that often?

as far as grass goes cold climate has less to do with it than use and rain. I'll use soldier field as an example (or most HS fields in NWI). Soldier field grass is usually beat to s#!t because the Bears aren't the only ones who play there, as they have soccer games and other events there during the season. Grass is usually fine until you have heavy rain and then have to play on it. Then it gets chewed up. If that happens later in the season it sucks because then it gets cold and the ground freezes in that chewed up state making it not fun to play on. It seems Nebraska likes to do a lot of stuff in the stadium to show off for recruits. If its one of your selling points I see why they do it.. Kind of have to watch your usage if its natural grass.
