McKeon

Well I can believe these two guys saying something like this, and it just adds more to me wanting to see Keller benched and McKeon to just not see the field anymore and let Austin Stafford play.

Anyway for a good story, after the game I saw Roy Helu and he is probably one of the nicest kids in the program. He was so respectful and kind to everyone he talked to and he wanted to talk to everyone. Helu is one of my favorite players by far on this team now. Not only is he a good fast running back he is by far a better person.

Another thing I saw was TO after the game! Man this guy is just so cool... this guy is just full of class and talked to every person who wanted his autograph and not just sign it and walk away. When he was done he even said something like "Did I get everyone that wanted one" then he said ok and said bye guys and walked off.

I guess the point I'm trying to make is however many a$$ clowns there are in this program there are more good kids.

As a head coach, and if this actually happened, Callahan needs to take action. Having this tool running his mouth all smashed is the last thing he should be doing. Maybe he should be thinking about how he and his former Blackshirts have ruined this program and brought shame to themselves. Saying that about TO and the 97 team is very sad. Show respect for the people made this football program dominant....maybe he is just a little jealous that he is on the teams that has made everything the guys before them mean nothing.

WHAT A TOOL!!!!!!!

This was posted on another board, and has been confirmed by several people:

I feel as if I should tell you what I witnessed tonight. Corey McKeon was at the Brass Rail trashed as usual and grabbing girls, talking s**t, etc. Someone asked if anybody said anything to him who was from the '97 team and he held his arms out as if to say bring it and said, "tell them to step into my territory." He also said, and I quote, "Fu** Tom Osborne." Also, Sam Keller said "we're f***ed!" Honestly, that made my blood boil and I couldn't resist, so I asked him why he'd say that and he replied, "because our offensive line fu**in' sucks, Nebraska fans f**kin' suck, and you fu**in' suck...want your a$$ kicked???"
If this is true I've just lost all respect for 2 of my favorite current huskers and I'm pretty pissed because it sounds like it has been confirmed so plese some one post and tell me they saw them sleeping and not out being :asshat s

To be honest this doesn't surprise me, and in fact it actually explains a few things. I don't know what a Husker––any Husker––is doing boozing after the third embarrassment in three weeks. Personally, if I had a demon's chance in Hell of playing for Nebraska or (God willing) making it to the next level, the last thing on my mind would be the bottle. I'd probably not have a single friend; every ounce of willpower would go into the team and into improving myself.

I realize they're in college, but they have an opportunity to do something that very few people in the world ever do. I think their lives should reflect their opportunities, and it seems that they're doing everything possible to squander what life has given them.

People keep saying, "Stick with the players," but it appears as though they won't stick with us.

In addition to the pathetic coaching staff, I think a lot of problems on this team lie with the seniors (such as Mckeon)! There are no leaders on this team and even if there was, I really don't think any of the rest of the seniors would listen to them anyway. It's pretty safe to say that the attitude of this team is beyond repair. The team needs a complete makeover including a new coaching staff, new attitude and removal of the cancerous cells (seniors) that are tearing the team apart!

It kind of sounds like a group of prima donnas, doesn't it? This is what a lot of people feared, I think, when we stopped a lot of the walkon stuff and moved away from our traditional ways of playing the game. You've got a bunch of kids who think they're all-stars playing for an incompetent coach who can't motivate, can't teach football, but more importantly, he can't teach life. If this story is true, Keller's already resorted to playing the blame game, and beware, nothing worse can happen to team unity than that. Of course he fails to mention his ridiculously underthrown/overthrown passes in there. It's the offensive line...yeah....

McKlown is just about as useless as you get. Not only can he not tackle or play football, he manages to drag down the entire team while he's at it, and then embarrass us all in public. If I were the coach and this stuff was really going on, I'd cut him. No joke. At least bench him for the rest of the season. But personally I'd rather his big mouth not be around any other players.

Really though, I don't think Mckeon would kick your a$$. Push you to the out of bounds part of the Rail maybe, but not kick your a$$.

Side note: Does the Rail still reek of vomit?

Couldn't agree more X! Somewhere along the way husker football has lost it's identity. It used to mean something to be a husker player, just wearing the scarlet and cream and the N on the helmet was motivation enough. Coaches used to take a guys heart and determination into consideration when recruiting them or letting them walk-on. This staff just recruits the highest rated players and then can't teach or motivate them, but I do have hope. TO is a good start, I'm convinced that he'll do everything he can to reinstall the pride and tradition in the program.

That's why I was so thrilled when TO stepped in as AD. Even though he won't be coaching, won't be recruiting in the technical sense, he'll find someone who knows what it means to play for Nebraska. Win or lose, what hurts worst of all is seeing that our guys don't even play like Huskers. And the coaches are largely to blame.

I hope Tom sets this right very soon. I trust him.
