I've always said I'll believe Gramstad is a legitimate piece of the QB puzzle when the coaches acknowledge him the way they do the others, which to my knowledge they've only ever done when he's called out by name by a reporter. There are other players, at other positions, that haven't arrived until summer that they have voluntarily name dropped, but I can't recall them doing the same for Gramstad.
Secondly, I've also always said they will find ways to get Haarberg on the field. It fits with what they started to do in game one last year and it fits what they've done with some previous stops, such as using the Wildcat at South Carolina. The question here is to the frequency of that.
If they want to play Haarberg at TE, I'm all for it. I'm a big fan of his, but not so much at QB. But, this is a tricky situation.

Ya it's a bit weird seeing people say he's only a 4 star or that he's a 3 star on one of the sites. Like we weren't thrilled about 4-star QB recruits previously now that we've had 1 5-star. I don't know if people realize there are usually only like 3-4 5-star QBs per recruiting class.

It’s because he’s from Nebraska. Some people just refuse to believe we could have a good QB from our state.

Show me the last all conference QB from the state of Nebraska and I will shut up.
The flip side of this of course, is everyone loves to think Nebraska kids are better than they are and complains when people say otherwise. DK might be great, and if he is awesome, but DR has an incredibly higher ceiling. All I am saying is if DR turns out to be THE GUY, you leverage that into someone equally high rated to come in here and compete. That is how big boy college football works, it doesn't care about feelings or if they are the home state kid. If DK beats all comers, awesome, but I am not putting my money on it and wouldn't ever stop trying to recruit over him. He shouldn't be promised a starting job for sticking around, and I would hope he doesn't want that either, but wants to earn it instead. I also won't blame him at all for bailing to go find playing time. This is the current state of things.

Kaelin was a 4 star prospect, so I don’t get why you want to kick him to the curb when you stated we need 4/5 star QB’s?

The thing is, the recruiting services are likely LESS likely to rate a Nebraska QB too high than, say, a QB from Georgia, because a Nebraska QB's competition won't be as good. Your take on Kaelin/the fans seems weird. I agree with you that they should always be trying to recruit people who can replace their current players, but nobody is in love with Kaelin because he's from Nebraska. That is a thing that happens, especially with walk ons who make 1 good play, but that's not the case here.

He's not IMO, I lean towards the 247 rating, but you're free to go with the service that rated him as such.
That's fair, I simply don't love what I've seen on film from him. I should've stated it in a clearer fashion and made it less about the local aspect, although I do feel there is some of that starting with him. Time will tell.

Admittedly I saw someone on YouTube arguing against Raiola being good at the spring game, saying Kaelin and Haarberg didn’t throw any interceptions.

That's not all you're saying, though. You said the ideal scenario is that he never starts. In essence you've revealed that you have an active wish for a reality in which he doesn't succeed.
That's not the ideal scenario; it's one hopeful scenario amongst many, another would be that he's the next Tom Brady and another would be that he develops against all odds to beat out the other three future 5 star quarterbacks on the team and breaks records.

Easton Stick was an FCS All-American, conference player of the year, and is making $2.6 mil this year in the NFL. So there's one at least! All-Conference definitely means more at the FBS level, but I think being an All-American and conference PotY at NDSU is similarly impressive. But to your point it is not common.
