Per a big time Las Vegas donor

According to a contact who knows a big time (?) Las Vegas donor, Callahan took a buyout offer on last friday. Saturday was his last time coaching at NU, and that is why after the game he walked off the field.

The second part of the rumor is that Shawn Watson will coach for the CU game, and that at the end of the season Bo Pelini will be named the HC. Pelini is rumored to have already accepted the job, rather than wait and see if he would be offered the HC position at LSU if the current HC went to Michigan.

I have no proof that this is true, but it will be interesting to see what happens in the next couple of days.

Here's hoping!

Hmmm...a big time Las Vegas donor, huh? Well, I know it's not me.

Calling this person a "big time Las Vegas donor" was how my source charactorized him. I know my source would not have passed this on if she had not believed it to be true. She knew that two other coaches were talked to (interviewed?), but she could not remember who he said they were (Not Turner Gill, as she would have remembered him). Someone from a Florida school (Southern Florida?) she thinks.

Hope springs eternal, I know, even without proof.

Probably South Florida's Jim Leavitt. I like Pelini better. :)

So what exactly is a big time Las Vegas donor?

Someone who loses a lot of $ there?

Whales? anyone?

It's all starting to make sense (if true).

Rumors left and right about Bo coming to Lincoln. Some were asking "why would he do that?" Maybe he came here to sign a contract?

The way BC acted after the game (walking off by himself) and not allowing media to contact the players (wanting his stepping down to be hush-hush)?

Who knows?

I do hope the Bo part is true though. I'd absolutely LOVE to have him here. I've always thought it was a mistake to let him go after '03. To think, we may just be able to correct that mistake!

Is Jackie Gaughan (sp) still alive? I know he was from Nebraska and owned casinos.
