Come on Mav, apples and oranges.   YOU even saw what was a more fluid/competent looking offense in just four weeks of DH putting his hands on it.  Add to the fact that was basing it off of an offense that couldn't throw, relying so much on QBs running and not a season worth of DR on film.    This is so different

I mean ... having a five-star QB and a QB coach should have been a lot different from a TE playing QB without a dedicated QB coach.  But....

And the said offense being called and ran with Satt vs DH were completely the same and irrelevant????  That stuff had no effect of his play???   :facepalm:

Take an L Mav that you actually had a bad post.  The rest of us can and do, try it sometime.  But hey we still can defend a crap WR coach for two kids not dropping passes right?????

I wish we had someone pushing DR more. In the long run it will be better for him too. It just seems he knows there is no other QB that can seriously challenge him.  So his poor habits continue. 
 

It is what it.  Seems like we made this deal (and not faulting that) and will live with it for a couple seasons.  So we need to put playmakers around him. We have no playmakers and that will stall offensives out like ours.

Learned that Iowa players are as classless as their fan base. Press conference w the douche canoe calling DR mahomes junior. Our guys never pull s#!t like that in press conferences. Also Neyer…didn’t even bat an eye when he dropped a potential game winning catch, no fight in those receivers except Barney JR. everyone calling for Satt and foleys heads need to also take a look at McGuire, that unit got worse the longer he worked w them

Hang on. "Atrocious" is really harsh, and I don't think it's even accurate. Considering he's a true freshman it's not bad.

I think the bigger issue is needing a higher level of intensity. His internal clock needs to speed up so he can find guys that are open faster.

Use whatever word you want, but it's the biggest reason he misses throws.  Your other points are valid, agreed.

I was really hoping to eat crow and be amazed we pulled it off yesterday, but everything fell directly into place like it normally does and yet another loss.  The team has no ability to finish and it seems like they don't care being embarrassed all the time.  Unfortunately that killer instinct it taught and we don't have a teacher at this point.  I am not even pissed anymore, i'm at the point where I just sit there and laugh knowing what's coming and then completely amazed that they just shrug this BS off like it means nothing.

That Iowa team REALLY sucked and we still found the will and a way to lose. Nothing has changed. On paper you would have guessed a 28-0 blowout. Nope....

No matter what people said about Pelini, his players played hard for him and respected him. They knew that even if he shouted at them on the sidelines, he truly cared for them and wanted them to be better. I never had a doubt that he cared about his players. Rhule does not have the respect of his players. If you reward your team after they lose, you are signaling that it is ok to lose. That is not a winning mentality. Rhule is Riley 2.0. All talk, no substance whatsoever. His pressers make me nauseous.

Was a great game for 58 minutes or so.  I had fun watching.  Thought NU would pull out a victory during Reg or OT.  Until DR lost the ball and lost the game.  And that's how and why they lost to Iowa.

I thought from the summertime Elite 7 camps and even in our camp that DK was/is a very solid QB.  IF he's comparable, unsure how you keep him happy if he sits the next year or 2.  DK does appear to be the consummate team player deciding to come back to NU.

Special teams owns about 90% of that loss.

- we missed a gimme fG due to snapping issues; again, 3 points we lost off the board 

- our punter, who for whatever reason has unrealistic nfl aspirations, was s#!t directly resulting in a significant starting field discrepancy  

-our return team can’t field a punt, directly resulted in 3 points for Iowa. 
 

- a cold winter game where field position was paramount and our punt returner is fair catching balls when he had 10 yards of space to the closest Iowa gunner or letting punts hit around the 10 and bounce to within the 5

outside of giving up a kick or punt return for a td, our special teams found every way possible to f#&% up

raiola could’ve been better. His receivers def coulda helped him out. But once again the story of the day was our high school level of play from special teams.

Up to before Dylan's fumble, I see 3 plays combined that lost this game in mind.  The weird touched punt. The long touchdown by Iowa. And the Neyor drop. You want to win you gotta be damn near perfect.

I'll give Iowa credit, they're content with the shoes they wear. Schedule weak a$$ non-con games, hope for a favorable con schedule, and play each game as conservatively as possible. That recipe has shown to get you 7-10 wins a year. And that's all they want. Good on them. They're better than Nebraska, but not by much. If Nebraska could ever just figure out doing the little things they would actually beat iowa by 2-3 touchdowns.

O there’s plenty of ppl calling fkr mcguires head. Kid is gone, guaranteed Dana only stays here if he gets full autonomy of the offensive staff. There’s no way he’s sticking with a 27 year old clown of a WR coach with no track record or on the field results to justify his worth
