2024-2025 College Football Playoff

Watched that play.  Crown of UT DB to facemask of receiver (defenseless player) and launched into him.  Textbook targeting IMHO.  Can't believe it wasn't called in real time and more surprised it was not ruled targeting after review.  Won't change anything, but gotta get a SEC team in there....

Agree.  That was a blatant miss and even SEC personalities are saying it should have been targeting.  I hope OSU mops the floor with Texas next week.

It was a B1G ref crew, wasn't it?  Doubt they have an SEC bias...

I wouldn't use them being B1G refs as a glowing reference :D .  I think they screwed us quite a bit this year.  Part of it is it should be "objective", but has become subjective.  Did receiver make 2 football moves, was it the crown to the neck or face area, did the player launch themselves etc....I remember Gerry seemed to get called every other game and I thought those were just legit hard hits.

I like Notre Dame in this one.

This isn't the same Georgia team from the past several years.  They've had some stinker games (outside of Texas).  Their rushing game is weak (15th in the SEC), and their passing game will be with a backup QB.  Even though he seems to have good accuracy, is a good player, his lack of experience (and in a big heavyweight game) it might cause a turnover or poor play at times.

I like this Notre Dame team.

Defensively they have a great secondary, the D forces turnovers, plays well against the run and pass.  They have some NFL talent.

Offensively, big line, good TE, great running backs, some solid WRs, and a QB that manages the game well (see Brock Purdy).  This team moves the chains without a deep passing game, but has a nice short passing game to get the job done.  QB Riley Leonard is 6'5, experienced, good move around and scramble a bit and run for good yards.  His passing is good enough.

The reason they have not done well in big games in the past is a Brian Kelly thing.  Marcus Freeman has done a great job at ND.

It should be close since it's basically a pick'em.  But I think the 4th quarter will be ND beating up a tired Georgia team and getting the win.

Sad days. Notre Dame or Penn St. will end up in the championship game. I don't think either team is worthy.
