OL Shiyazh Pete -> Kentucky

Pretty bad portaling attempts for the OL. They needed more.
You might be right but I just don’t think the  staff felt that we needed to go nuts here.

DH said we needed to bring in some guys and they went and got a pretty great option at right tackle.

I know I heard Sip and Callahan say staff was high on Gottula.

Getting Pete would’ve been great but maybe the cost was too high for what we already have there?

The spring portal will have plenty of vet option for OL as well. This isn’t necessarily over.

It’s not cost. Spring portal option is a large gamble.

Agreed!  Good left tackles are hard to find.  Pete looked like a good fit but like others in the portal, money appears to be more important than the team.
Nebraska was floated to be the highest bidder at one point for Peat. They also were for World as well. Money is not the issue.

World went to Oregon, a playoff team.  I don't know about others, but heard Pete wanted a million.  I don't think Mich or us were willing to pay that.  We might have been the highest bidder before Kentucky.

It was rumored we offered over a million for Pete.
 When i see this kind of money & l wonder how much is true for any player.  Last yr., the only players reporting this much NIL were QBs & WRs & there were not that many.   Sure seems like that number is being thrown out there a lot for players across the country.
