Then a commenter corrects it to "seven" because each woman has two orifices the original poster overlooked, which is greeted as genius by fellow commenters. The majority of comments are about how none of them would knowingly take a plane that had two women pilots because, you know. Women. It appeared on my Facebook feed the day of the Inauguration.

You'd like to attribute it to the wackiest extremists on the internet, but these kinda things get originated and passed around by the President of the United States, cabinet members and congress people, and the mainstream conservative media. When Trump blames DEI for a plane crash, it is no different than blaming a lesbian fire chief and women firefighters for failing to put out a powerful fire. You can invoke God wherever He is convenient. It's all in the playbook.
Sorry if I harp on you specifically, Archy, but you're the missing link to figuring this out. You appear smart enough to reject Trump and MAGA foolishness, while defending them at the same time. We keep hearing that sensible Republicans will finally stand up against Trumpism, only to watch them slavishly carry his water. In order for the election numbers to add up to the polling numbers, a lot of people who claimed they couldn't vote for either Biden or Trump ended up voting for Trump. This, combined with everything you post still gives me pause about your DeSantis write-in protest.
