No, they are grandfathered for as long as they have eligibility. Teams have to ID who are officially in the 105 and those who are exemptions so that as new roster adds are made the 105 cap is still tracked and enforced other than the allowed exemptions. That way once all exemptions run out of eligibility, the team will automatically be at 105.

Gotta think teams (including us) mostly designated underclassmen to maximize the amount of time they can stay over 105. My understanding is their exemption carries over if they transfer too, so it could lead to those players being very desirable in the portal. Although seems like few teams value the extra roster spots the same way we do, so maybe not.
