Houston Christian Game Preview



As pointed out in other threads these early season computer rankings are not great, and attempting to measure teams across divisions is difficult. But find their week 1 opponent here:


HINT: they're not in the first 12 columns. They are one of the worst NAIA teams in the country. That'll help the defensive numbers.

Eastern Kentucky is at least a legitimately average FCS team, HCU shut them down pretty well on defense and still lost by 10.
 
SMU beat them last year 59-7.

The lack of size, athleticism, speed, quickness, effort, overall depth is very noticeable. I'm not going to say JUCO but we know what I am referring to.

We do play them at 11am though. It should feel like a scrimmage for practice reps.

 
I still don't see us putting up 60+ again, not because I think we'll struggle, I just think that's so hard to do back to back games, regardless of quality of opponent. You gotta think that if we get up 21+ by half, the starters come out to preserve their health for Michigan, just as a matter of course.
