Now is not the time to fire Rhule; not with all the huge openings. Best just to see how he does in year 4.

Why in the hell would we fire our coach??? We are in the middle of our best season in almost a decade, have some of the most promising recruits we have had in 2 decades, and are still in the hunt for literally everything. The mere mention by our fan base makes me kind of hate some of you. Seriously, face reality. We are in a great position, especially compared to so many "top programs". No we aren't top 10 yet and have plenty to work on but we are improving and show potential for the future. Give the guy a chance and stop with the stupid hyper critical bs.Now is not the time to fire Rhule; not with all the huge openings. Best just to see how he does in year 4.
I do wonder if jobs that had such a great pull before, might not be as attractive now.I was just going to post this year would not be a year to look for a HC. Wisconsin will soon be open and I am guessing Ole Miss.
I personally hope that Rhule does end up at PSU, here are my reasonsIf by chance Rhule goes to PSU, then I hope NU finds a none splash hire (based on the pecking order of the open jobs, it is highly unlikely that we get a splash hire) that can maintain and build on what Rhule has done here. I hope it is a guy who is successful at a lower level but is a 'run the damn ball' guy who places emphasis on a strong OL and mobile QB and who can bring top notch talent from his team with him like Indiana's coach did.
This may be true but no one has seen what can do past year 3. Maybe Nebraska is a 4 year rebuild instead of 3. We'll see how we end up at the end of the season.3. Rhule is more than likely "not the guy", nothing against him but chances are more likely that he will never do anything great here

It is starting to seem that way in a general sense - or at least in the expectations of fans and administrations. Year 3 has become the focal point. Firing a coach early in the season seems like something we started with Frost. Their is a nuclear arms face to create the open position and grab the best coach one can before others grab him. This year is a wild ride. Sanders may step down due to health issues in Colorado and his magic has faded, Wisc - you got to think they will do something unless they think they should endure one more year rather than entering the fray this year, Ole Miss will open as I expect Lane to move on to a more tradition heavy school like LSU or Florida. This huge contracts with huge buy outs is a burden on every school. Best gig to get if you don't have a conscience is being an overpaid college coach with a huge buyout. I just wonder when they (college football overlords) throw out this whole model and just privatize it and make it a NFL farm league.Maybe!
Now, with NIL and the transfer portal, needing 4 years to "rebuild" probably means that he had no idea what the **** he was doing in years 1 through 3.
