Rhule to Penn State?

"Kalshi, an American financial exchange and prediction market, has Nebraska coach Matt Rhule listed as the favorite for the Penn State job. As of this Saturday morning, he has a 35% chance of coaching the Nittany Lions."

That the favorite is only at 35% means nobody really knows what the final outcome will be. Granted, I do believe Rhule is the AD's leading candidate by a mile.

A PA paper's take on Rhule to PSU - written before the game against NW.

I find it amusing that when bringing up Rhule to PSU people keep talking about his history as a program builder. Do these people really look at PSU and think that is a program that needs to re-build?

One thing I think that one can argue is the wins over ranked teams. If you buy into the narrative he takes basement dwellers to the big time than how can people expect him to have beat ranked teams....I know it's a valid data point, but looked at in context. I think it's more damning for Franklin who has had a good program the entire time at PSU. Bo was 5-16 after Cally who was 3-10 after Frank. Riley was 2-7.....

Thinking the same thing. Yes Rhule has a history of a builder, but he has no record of keeping them there. Maybe he stays at NU to prove he can build and keep a team up at the top. Again, who knows if Rhule wants to even entertain an offer or looking to leave.

PSU
UF
LSU
UCLA
Possibly FSU
Lane takes UF then Ole Miss opens up

Quite a few "big" name schools at one time. Unsure if I can remember this many "big" names at one time.

Add Auburn

PSU is at least the 3rd or 4th best job available. Rhule is probably the best they can get in this cycle

And if PSU takes Rhule- what scrap do we end up with??? Maybe instead of looking for a splash hiring, we find a steady Eddy who is a 'run the damn ball' guy first and understands he needs the best OL money can buy and a mobile QB - and it wouldn't hurt if half of his current team comes with him like what happened at Indiana.

No. They don't need a builder unless we look at what they may lose to the Portal and in recruits during this time period. The argument probably will be that Rhule is a builder, just think what he can do as a maintainer once he gets all of his chess pieces on the board.

Brian Hartline.

LSU, Florida, Auburn, and FSU would surely take big proven names. The big proven names would leave a vacuum to be filled by smaller school, big coaches ( Bob Chesney, Jason Candle, Jason Eck)

Huskers get Hartline!
