PSU - What Did We Learn?

I didn't learn much, this is the same team save some much improved ST allowing us to beat the low hanging fruit. I picked 7-5 before the year. I just fear this is it with Rhule, the ceiling. I would want to see more in year 3 to really believe.

1. Dannen needs to be in the hot seat for extending Rhule who has yet to beat a ranked team.
2. Matt Rhule is a great preacher but horrible coach.
3. John Butler was a bad hire...plain and simple.

The game begins and ends in the trenches. WE need to spend money on the LOS. This PSU team really screwed up their season. This is the best team we have played this year. I saw us losing this game by 17 because of their RBs and OL. They were even better than I thought.

Rhule did not deserve a raise nor was he really ever in the running for PSU.

Our front 7 can’t get off blocks and make plays in the run game…we knew this.
Butler is never going to commit extra guys to the run game because he doesn’t want to be negative on the back end. (even though a good coordinator can find gaps in the zone we run).
We don’t do anything different on defense…ever…this is what we are going to do every week.
On offense they don’t trust TJ to throw anything further than 10 yards downfield. And none of the running plays go will outside the tackle. Load up the box to stop EJ and the quick passing game.
Everything we do and have down all season feeds into Iowas strengths.

TJ is much more mobile. DR wouldn't have gotten that TD.

We learned that many of us will be accompanying our wives on Black Friday. And hopefully that will be slightly less painful than watching the game. Hopefully.

I learned that when the "what did we learn" thread comes out before a game ends, in B1G play, the team is not competitive in any manner.
