I said it in the game thread. I said it last year when the team was underperforming. I started questioning it in Rhule year 1.
This is not about a magical Rhule year 3 in college football. That's the wrong story. Rhule has been dominated by top 25 teams. Rhule got blasted in the NFL. Rhule is not good in the B1G. What does this all mean? Rhule's 3rd years do not matter. Rhule's inability to compete against the elite is the story. He cannot do it.
More proof:
- This is the guy that tried to sell us on Jeff Sims being elite
- This is the guy that hired a 23 year old to coach WRs...in the B!G
- This is the guy who thought Satterfield was OC material
- This is the guy who kept Donnie Raiola, the only coach kept from the prior Staff, because he went ALL IN on Dylan. The latter Raiola has not lived up to the hype, and in part, because his uncle (oh irony) is so bad at coaching.
And CEO Rhule brings in more layers to keep him as the podcaster CEO while these amateurs continue to get outcoached.
I haven't even gotten to the players yet. And I'll refrain...you can come in with 6 stars per player, but if you get these clowns "developing" you, you're doing nothing but going backwards.
