Iowa - What Did We Learn

The fact that they did not address the interior DL knowing full well that was a weak link is criminal…and then playing in a 3 man front with poor linebacker play against these run first teams make it even worse.
Just a bad football team all around. There needs to be changes, but I don’t trust Rhule to make the necessary changes or actually bring in the right people to do the job.
He better be ready to have some exodus of the good guys they actually have.

Let us what or if he is going to do anything about this? Personally, I don’t think Rhule himself takes practice seriously since we had some of the worst performances after our bye weeks.

Basically what I’m saying is they need a different coach… Not because of this game but just because of everything. They suck at getting guys in the portal… They suck at winning games they should win… And we can’t get to the point where fans are all of a sudden happy with #WinningSeasons…LikeIowaFansAre

They were 6-3 in conference, and every loss this season was by less than 5 points.

I always got a bad vibe from the chasing 3 videos when Rhule would kick the first team defense off the practice field as all the problems was the effort of the players. Always struck me as an easy way out to not coach and deflect blame to the players.

Iowa scored on 6 of 10 drives and one of those was at the end of the game just running out the clock. Iowa scored the 3rd most points all season. This defense is horrible and there needs to be major changes there.

The offense is bad and there needs to be changes on the o line especially. But this defense is pathetic.

What kills me is Rhule knew in 2023 at the earliest or 2024 at the latest that Ty and Nash were gone. So you start finding guys to replace them ASAP. Develop, get them in the weight room, used to the playbook, calls etc....It's like they left last year and he was shocked....

Another thing with PSU and Urban Meyer, Kraft did not continue interviewing as he had not coached in the era of NIL/Transfer Portal and Kraft felt that was a hard thing to overcome or learn on the fly. Maybe Rhule and Co are learning on the fly. Who on the staff coached in this era?

Although, I do think the kids like it. It is a positive for NU. He does use social media well, but as a HC he sucks. Maybe, if he would be the CEO and get a solid staff who he lets run things it might work out. But in its current configuration he is a no go for me. He's gotta make some hard drastic changes. It's that simple to me. And Dannen....Dude needs to be fired for fraud, waste and abuse.

We extended him for no reason, he was not a hot commodity, and we bid against ourselves for a coach who is a liability on Saturdays.

Everybody thought we'd lose today. We need to hit a total reset but can't because our AD extended a coach out of his depth in a puddle.
