Bowl Projections 2025/26

The locals will tell you it is because of all of the Californians moving over. My kids make a good income, but can't buy a house. Californians come in and pay cash and outbid the long-time locals. I guess the prices are starting to come down. I never go to the strip. If I want to go to a casino, we hit the neighborhood ones.
I've lived in Vegas (80s) and SoCal (90s/00s) and got married in Vegas over 10 yrs ago.
I can agree with almost everything posted in this thread. The reason ex-pat Californian's have so much money is because of real estate prices and gov't ponzi-scheme pensions. Starting with Jerry Brown's (70s) administration the state made it harder to get building permits. The housing shortage drove up prices. The shortage was due to people fleeing the rust belt and Cali welcoming millions from south of the border as well as many other places.
A house that sold for 80k in 1975 now sells for over 2 million. Also, state/county/city employees fully vested have insane retirement packages. Some of them double & triple dip. When they retire, they sell their homes for millions and take those pensions to a state where 2 mil buys you a mansion instead of a Caleftornia middle class home.
Who buys those modest houses for 2 million? Corporations/individuals whose business model is partly (and sometimes exclusively) rental homes. Many of those rentals become clown houses. Single family homes end up being occupied by 15 people or more. I saw it first-hand in Calabasas; Sun Valley; Manhattan Beach; Mar Vista; Newport Beach; North Hollywood and Anaheim. And it was reported on the John and Ken show (AM radio) continually for many years. Plenty of others covered it as well.

will TJ be ready for the bowl? assume EJ isn't playing. Spindler is also out. what will our team look like in whatever bowl we are in?

It sounded like they are optimistic for TJ, but he's not practicing right away - I think they can start Monday and he will be held out. Also imagine he may want to decide about his future first.

There should be opportunities for young guys, but I also wonder if Rhule's spring game paranoia will manifest itself here. Last year Donovan Jones played the whole game after not playing much during the year, and I'd love to see more of that. But if Rhule was scared of the spring game acting as a showcase and our guys getting a bunch of portal offers, a bowl game a few days before the portal opens is a much bigger stage. Obviously he wants to win though, and the bowl game is a lot more important than a spring game.

I would be very happy if the staff committed to one RB in this game and that guy went out and had a really good game.

Can they practice if they turn down the bowl?

Bowl games are really meaningless anymore. So many changes in coaches, players, and opt outs. They probably shouldn't count against the season record. They are more exibition games.

I do agree if we are paying players, their contract should force them to play the bowl games. And/Or make the fine for leaving early a significant percentage of the yearly salary.

My son-in-law is a huge ISU fan. He said a ton of them will transfer. They want to stay healthy and weigh their options.

This is the new way. The team voted on it.

The losers are the school and the fans.

$500,000 fine for KSU & ISU for refusing a bowl game. Yikes. What would it have set back each program if they DID go to a lesser bowl? It seems both programs would get SOME benefit from participating in a bowl... postseason talk... extra practices... an opportunity for transplanted fans to see their team...
