Huskers in the 2026 NFL Draft

Once a Husker, always a Husker. Except when you choose not to be a Husker. Or just stopped in Lincoln for a cup of coffee and a quick season.

Sorry, but it doesn't feel the same rooting for Trey Palmer and Wan'dale Robinson and some of the other portal hoppers who move on to the NFL. I don't blame them for making professional career decisions -- they're often the right decision -- but I also don't blame fans who feel a little less loyal to college football going forward.

Given everything effusive Dylan Raiola has said in his Nebraska journey, I will probably root against him if he dumps us. I mean, why would you root for him?
I will too, and any reference to that name in the stadium. He's been given everything here, has a private coach, top pay. And now we finally got rid of the coach that couldn't get his squad to protect the star QB, his very own uncle for god sakes. No other school could possibly do more other than get 5* players all over the field to play with. Thats not the real world, and most NFL starting QBs came from lesser schools with lesser talent and willed their team to victory. How many playoff QBs were 5* or get 3.5 mil contracts. If he leaves so be it, he'll be ridiculed for the rest of his career. Tommy came back from the hospital to be with his team, Adrian played with his mouth wired shut, those kids had such drive and passion, willing to do anything to win. We haven't even seen that once. We've all been waiting patiently and defending him. Absolutely unthinkable to turn your back on the program that invested everything into you because of your family and pedigree.
Anyway, I wish we had a Trey Palmer AND an EJ in one season, game changer. This staff just can't seem to have a star in every group, it's like one for the whole team.

You do remember Adrian transferring, right? Tommy may very well have transferred if he were given the opportunity but he played in a different time with different rules. Dylan hasn't posted anything indicating he is or isn't transferring so people like you becoming triggered over nothing aren't doing the Nebraska program any favors. Just stop.

Hard disagree on Trey Palmer. He comes back to campus and seems to enjoy the Husker fans. Also without him we don't have a single victory over Iowa in a decade.

Oh I like Trey and followed his stats with the Bucs. It's just harder to say "that's our guy!" when he was only 25% our guy. No ill will for Adrian Martinez either, who was our guy for four seasons. I don't blame Frost for moving on from him, or Adrian for giving his best at Kansas State. Also, he's the back-up QB for my San Francisco 49ers at the moment. Emmett Johnson will most definitely be our guy in the NFL. But a lot of these others.....not so much.

Oh yeah I get that then. Trey is definitely not the same as like a Kenny Bell.

Yes, after starting four seasons for Nebraska and not being asked back for the fifth. Little different.
Have any references for the bolded? There is nothing out there I can find referencing this was anything other than Adrian looking for greener pastures for his 5th year. He accounted for 27 touchdowns in 2021- 14 passing and 13 rushing. He was our entire offense with nobody else having more than 4.

I don't fault him for leaving at all but to sing his praises as a dedicated guy while trashing Dylan is laughable.

Maybe it's not the thing coaches would ever commit to an email or press conference, but I'm almost certain the consensus at the time from both the fanbase and inside the athletic department was that after four losing seasons and a very hot seat, Scott Frost could use (deserve?) a season that didn't hang on Adrian Martinez's pandemic-enabled fifth season. I think the braintrust felt pretty emboldened by what they might pick up in the new-ish portal pipeline.

Making it one of those fairly common "you deserve a chance somewhere else" thing that saves face for both parties. IIRC, Martinez was willing to stay but wasn't feeling the love. And wasn't wrong.

I'm not trashing Dylan. Yet. But I disagree that there are no indications he might bolt. At the very least he's setting the table.

I’m not at all triggered. Dylan is my guy and and I have defended him, and still do. He’s the best chance of finally sending a QB to the NFL, which will in turn bring better guys in. I have a problem with him bailing after all of this. Adrian was a grad transfer, completely different.

Well with Dylan, if he sticks around despite his uncle getting the heave-ho, that will say a fair deal (although granted if my uncle was letting me get pulverized in the backfield like that I wouldn't really care that he was told to try his fortune elsewhere).

Until I actually hear Dylan is transferring, I will give him the benefit of the doubt when it comes to loyalty to the program.

I wish when I played my last college game I announced I planned on entering the job market on social media. Wait, we had no social media, barely computers.

35 total tackles.....2025 at NU
120 Total tackles 2024 at Georgia Southern
116 total tackles 2023 at Georgia Southern

Unsure the HUGE drop off. Don't blame him popping smoke. Scheme, depth chart, coaching.....

I guess we have had average success in the portal. Palmer, Scott, Rocco, Pritchett, Hunter, Key, Dowdell. Just never know. Like recruits. Gotta develop.
