This is true. And so because it’s difficult to get even 1 DL in the top 15, for me personally, I’d rather build the offensive line up first. Get one DL in the top 19-25, that’s an improvement.
But gosh dang we gotta shore up that OL…

and I think we are on our way. The offensive line is the most important group on the field. Bar none.
Then QB, and we signed one of those that looks like a gamer.
 
The way the season ended has some people only seeing negative.

Although I shouldn’t be surprised the wild claims people are making about what we need, and it’s already too late, and if we don’t get x these coaches are gone, like they actually know what they are talking about. It’s a drag.

I mostly watch games alone bc of this kind of crap. People have no idea what they are talking about or what they are looking at.

I think the OL is much closer than the DL. With a coach. And a good one. And some pieces with more coming.

Am I wrong? I think it’s fair after the last two years to question everything. Especially since the DL was dreadful with no coach and missing out on some guys already. I like some of the pieces we’ve added don’t get me wrong. But it’s alarming that this glaring weakness isn’t being addressed as well as it should.

Yes, you are. Until the portal closes, none of us have a f'ing clue what it will look like. Guys like you preaching firing and doom and gloom do the school no favors, at all. If you don't think recruits read this stuff, you should go look at our 2027 QB's recent tweets. Obviously they read this stuff just like the rest of us. It's great you care but damn man, relax at least until the cards are all on the table.

I will happily eat my words if so. I just have little faith obviously. Nebraska football has about 100x more worries than fans bitching on a message board. Every team on the planet has that. And it is warranted after this season. Rhule needs to own it. And by that I mean hiring a proven college coach that breathes recruiting that will help attack the portal with ferocity.

For me there were plays where Rex Guthrie was in position to make but bc of his poor angling it hurt the run defense stats. I understand bc he was out there he was the best we had to play but I question why there weren't anybody else the coaches couldn't put out there.

Our size has been equal with everyone else. Scheme and effort are the issues IMO.
 
Linebackers were terrible. When the line did it's job the backers played horrible behind them.

The problem with the DL - they made Keona Davis get fat quickly to play 3 technique with Nwaneri. They gave a blackshirt to Van Poppel and plugged him inside while rotating Jeudy. Cam Lenhardt & undersized Desean McCullough participated on the line, but that's it. Pietrzak showed muscle and toughness as a true frosh. Most of these players were edge rushers or outside linebackers in a 4-3. None of them fit the size or had the skill for the defensive line going into this past season. Every one of them except Jeudy & Van Pop were outside guys having to play interior.

That's just what the Bank had, and that's what Butler had to roll with. Or whoever would've been DC. Which is a shame.
