I agree with you. DR was in his 2nd year here. Did he really improve? Teams figured DR out pretty quickly. Get pressure and he has some issues. He also seemed to have trouble with deep balls, fades etc..as the seasons progressed.

Sometimes Occam's razor is the answer. Maybe the DR we see is actually how he is. "Better" OL/receivers etc, might not make a difference. He might just be an "average" QB. To add, we have been so void of game changers for years that anyone who "looks" good, we immediately (or I do) equate to a very good player. I thought Westerkamp would go pro, Bell etc...as examples. Hope that all makes sense. 😀

And this from a guy who said earlier on another team he'd be in the Heisman talk.

Dylan is a good QB. I'll give him that. However... given his lack of a deep ball, no threat as a runner, and his Patrick mahomes cosplay makes his departure good. Spend money on the lines, not on a qb with those qualities.
 
i don't see moore staying at oregon. next year he'll have to compete with manning plus whoever else emerges.

if he grades as the 2nd best qb then there's no reason to stay. raiders and jets both need QBs at 1 and 2

plus his contract will be a lot bigger if he's a top 5 pick than he'd make at oregon

Yep and also, many believe 4 of the first 6 teams drafting are in need of a quarterback. Plus it is a sub-par year for QBs.

Mendoza, Moore, Ty Simpson, Beck... wonderful. Then what? Drew Allar? Nussmeier? Taylan Green? Cade Klubnik ? lol....

Moore is a top 6 lock at the very least, but could go 1 or 2. That's worth more overall than NIL and Nike for a season.
 
If this pans out with Moore staying it’s a great play by Oregon. I doubt DR gets huge money, but more importantly, Oregon gets to test drive for a year. They will have a year to figure out if he’s going to work or not.

It’s a good play with little risk if Moore stays.

Mendoza and Moore are 1 & 2 for sure one would think. The other QBs in this class seem like more of a drop off.

A rookie 1st round deal would be 40mil on a 4 year guaranteed contract. Moore would be leaving quite a bit of $$$ on the table if he stays, but could get close on a 4 mil direct payment from Oregon and whatever Phil throws at him. 1 play could change everything though and end a career.
