MAYBE Gill will come back to NU to take over Tim Cassidy's job in the Athletic Department and be groomed to take over from TO when Tom has had enough

There is talk about him being a canidate at Washington State, and that might be the next stop for him as a coach

like others, i serioulsy doubt that 2 HCs would leave on their own accord to become OC/DC. Yes Gill would make more money as a OC at NU, but come on

True. I was wrong on that. So I am only about 60% correct. I was wrong on a few things. I also came back on here and said I was wrong and TO was telling the truth when he said he wasn't going to do anyting and he passed the responsibilities to others to look for a coach.

I WAS WRONG ON SOME THINGS AND I ADMIT IT. I never hid from that ever.

Wish it was higher but there are a lot of people batting .000 around here with big mouths towards me.

 
It is kinda funny to me that before anyone knew what was going on I stated that Pud would be fired, TO as interim AD and Pelini as HC. That was before there was even a press conference announced that PUD was going to be fired. Short memories ladies. I don't want credit or praise but again some guys feel the need to bash and I am just giving you info I heard from a UofA athletic dept official this morning.

 
I remember Stoops being offered a job where there was the chance that they would be playing against each other. He declined as he did not want to coach against his brother.

 
there you have it, i will trust info coming from a UofA athletic official, over Bo Pelini's Salt Water Aquaium guy anyday of the week.

even though that UofA Athletic Department Official could be anyone from the Athletic Director (doubtful) and the Towel Boy (likely)

actually it is all a rumor and guess work until TO annouces his decision at a press confrence

I assume you mean everyone and not just me right MOD.

Anyway, I like your quote on the bottom but you forgot to update it when TO said at the firing of BC press conference that others were in fact in contact with other coaches and they were developing a list of candidates. TO just didn't want to hear about them until after the season. Also, he said that after the KS game the writing was on the wall and it was time to make a change somewhere. And then after CU he decided tha BC needed to be fired. SO it appears he did have some thoughts prior to the end of the season. Your quote needs to be ammended.

if you understood human nature, which you obviously don't, you would realize that sometimes it isn't about the money. he's building a program at buffalo. it's not much, but it's more that what was there. and he is appreciated back there, too.

does gill strike you as the type who would drop everything for a fat wad of twenties? that his loyalty extends as far as his next paycheck?

if gill comes back, it's because he's needed. and TO has asked him to comeback. that said, i don't think gill will be back because TO respects turner too much to ask him to drop his own projects just to become an assistant.

I didn't say it was about the money. What I said was he is making peanuts so he wouldn't stay for the money. There isn't any. And his goal isn't to coach Buffalo, he goal is to stay at Buffalo long enough to get a better job and their is nothing wrong with that. He won't be at Buffalo any longer anyway. He is gone from Buffalo and TO is offering him a faster way to a great HC job or he might get a good offer elsewhere but unlikely.

 
Being the OC at a Nebraska is a better gig than being the head coach at a Buffalo, without question.

I think Hack may be on to something with the thought that Turner is busy building something at Buffalo - maybe he wants to see that through before moving on. The man has great integrity, that's for certain.

Well your mistaken if you think turning around a small program isn't beneficial to his coaching stock.

He will raise more eyes turning around Buffalo then being a OC at NU. The question always arises about coordinators "Their not proven" "no HC experience" "can they handle the day to day ops the position requires"

The Urban Meyer's (from the MAC)Paul Johnson's, Brian Kelly's, Jim Leavitt's, Gary Pinkel's (also from the MAC)have all turned around poor to mediocre programs and in Urbans and Pinkels case have moved on to bigger and better things, and they did it as HC's not OC's. And if TO had the opportunity he should have selected one of the above.

Also according to ESPN Gill may already be considering the WA St. job
