The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution(i.e. the size of your home, color of your car, personal drug use, ex.....), nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
most states do regulate drugs(esp. hard drugs) so I guess its technically legal to arrest people for living their lives the way they want to live them.
prohibition on alcohol didn't work......... either will this illegal war on drugs, and at the same time its one of the reasons we continue to go further and further into debt as a nation......... how long must this suffocation of the constitution go on?!?!

It's obvious you don't know a whole lot, if anything, about the Constitution. The war against drugs is not in any way illegal. You can argue that it is misguided until you are blue in the face, but that doesn't make it illegal. The truth is that drugs like meth and crack are serious problems for communities, not just for the people that do them. I can provide you with plenty of additional crimes that are committed while under the effect of these substances. If you're going to argue that something is illegal or unconstitutional, please possess some understanding of the document you're attempting to interpret.

Yeah it's a HUGE mess down here at the moment. It seems that charges are going to be made real soon though. We shall see!

He might not be so far from the mainstream. Most people would probably agree that the prisons are over-crowded and that something needs to be done about that problem. Decriminalizing or legalizing some drugs may be a valid way.
I think there's a wide array of "relative evil factor" (for lack of a better term this early in the morning) among drugs currently illegal in The United States. I believe that cocaine in its various forms and methamphetamine are two of the most evil substances on earth. On the opposite end of the spectrum, I think marijuana, psilocybin and peyote should be legalized for adults. LSD should probably remain illegal because it's in such a concentrated form. Judges should probably look more towards treatment than incarceration for heroin users. Alcohol - which many of us know is more dangerous than marijuana, psilocybin and peyote - should remain legal because of the wide-spread cultural acceptance, but severe penalties should be enforced for drunk driving.
No, I have not tried H, the "crack" form of cocaine or meth, so I don't speak from first-hand experience on all of these.

I think you need to go and reasearch your information a little better. In 2001 Good ole "G-Dubya" cut the Crime Bill by 2 billion dollars. Thus, cutting most of the Anti-Drug units in the US. I think you need to look at this war against Iraq and the search for the elusive "WMD" first! Seems like the US is pumping more money into this fiasco than anything in recent history, but that is a different story in itself.

I agree that cocaine, meth, lsd, x, ex...... are all bad substances, but they should all be legal on a federal level, which is clearly stated in the 10th amendment. I'm not promoting the use of these drugs, I'm promoting the freedom for all american citizens that we have the right to live our lives the way we want to live them. nothing should be illegal on a federal level: not guns, not drugs, not prostitution, not speeding, ex......... absolutely nothing. the 10th amendment leaves those rights up to the people of each individual state, imo this is why so many americans don't care about voting, because their votes really don't matter anymore. if the federal gov. gave the right for each state to make its own laws(without over ruling them later) maybe people would start to care again(at least on a state level). in a state of just over a million people every vote would actually count.
blackshirts - cutting back doesn't solve the problem........ its just like putting a spare tire on your car. it'll help, but it won't solve the problem in the long run.
The Iraq issue is definitely a bigger issue, but this thread was about meth, and i saw no reason to mention the another illegal war.

Ever heard of the Commerce Clause? Probably not, huh? Federal regulation of drugs is clearly constitutional under it.
