Big 12 considers Cowboys Stadium as permanent home
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -- Big 12 commissioner Dan Beebe says the league will eventually consider whether to make the new Cowboys Stadium a permanent home for its football championship game.
Speaking Tuesday during a tour of the $1.15 billion facility, Beebe said the Big 12 board of directors wasn't ready to create permanent sites when it last decided the rotation of venues for championship events in all sports.
"But they haven't seen this," Beebe said.
The Big 12 title game will be in the Dallas-Fort Worth suburb of Arlington the next two years.
Beebe said the league wants to see how things go in the 80,000-seat stadium's first year. After that, another bidding process figures to include previous host cities Kansas City, Mo., San Antonio and Houston.
