Quick update on Quentin Castille: The dismissed Nebraska I-back attended practice Wednesday at the University of Memphis, according to the Memphis Commercial Appeal.
If Castille immediately enrolls at another NCAA Division I-A school, he could take his mandatory redshirt season in 2009 and still have two years of eligibility remaining. NU head coach Bo Pelini announced Saturday that Castille was no longer with the Huskers for violation of team rules.
Memphis plays in Conference USA.

This from the Memphis Commercial Appeal newspaper:
Ex-Husker RB visits
Former Nebraska running back Quentin Castille, dismissed from the team by Cornhuskers coach Bo Pelini last weekend, attended Wednesday's practices at the Murphy Athletic Complex.
Castille, let go for an unspecified violation of team rules, was expected to be an integral part of Nebraska's running game. With injuries sidelining Husker running backs Roy Helu Jr., and Marlon Lucky, Castille rushed for a career-high 125 yards in a victory over Clemson in last season's Gator Bowl. His performance included runs of 58 and 40 yards.
If Castille (6-1, 235) were to transfer to Memphis, he'd have to sit out this fall -- per NCAA transfer rules -- and he'd have two years remaining. A native of La Porte, Texas, Castille rushed for 102 yards against Oklahoma State as a freshman and was the team's second-leading rusher, finishing with 343 yards. He ranked third on the team last fall with 467 yards.
He has to enroll before classes start, so any school whose classes have already started would be off his list.Nothing against Memphis, but I would've guessed a bigger "name" school. Just my opinion though.

Yeah, that would make sense. No problem. And to be clear, I have no idea which schools have already started classes and which haven't.
Also, who's to say that many schools weren't scared off of Q from what they've heard from UNL? Other schools will do their due diligence before signing him, and he's not without blemish. I'm sure they've called Bo, and I'm sure Bo told them what he was able. That could have ruled out many, many schools.

Interesting quotes from Q's own mother in the article, too. After being dismissed from the Nebraska team Saturday for violating team rules, Castille’s mother said Thursday night the I-back is planning to enroll in classes Friday at Northwestern State (La.) University. The Demons play in the Football Championship Subdivision (formerly Division I-AA).
