My take on the championship being at Jerry's place

I like it. I like it a lot. I mean a lot.

Jerry's place is THE PRIMO stadium in the country. Yes, Jerry's a jerk. Yes, the stadium is in Texas.

But people, I implore you to look at this objectively. It's not a UT thing. It's not an OU thing. It's not a Big 12 South thing. Quit your bitching about all that. It's not about that. It's about having our championship showcased in the world's best stadium, and in one of the largest markets in the country. Come on already.

This deal is HUGE for Nebraska. Nebraska has more backers in Texas than ANY other state, besides Nebraska itself. There are MANY people who live in Texas, LIKE MYSELF, that are closer to LINCOLN than to AUSTIN! GIT UR MAP OUT!

Nebraska's pipeline of Texas talent must INCREASE. It can increase EASIER by being in that GAWD-DANGED stadium once a year.

With Bo Pelini and Dr. Tom in charge, this game is going to become MEMORIAL STADIUM SOUTH for one game a year. The place is going to be flooded with RED. It's not a bad thing for the state of Texas to BLEED RED for one Saturday a year.

Nebraska needs to get down to Jerry's Place and kick some a**, be it against OU or TU.

Get over it. This is best for Nebraska!!!

GO BIG RED

I had a couple of friends go to the Big 12 championship game in KC, when we went up against Okl a few years back. There was so much snow piled up in the stadium seats and it was so cold that finally one of them had to go out to the car and listen to the game. I know football is a cold weather sport, but come on..

I have to agree, that it would really show case the Huskers to those Texas kids that are deciding on which school to attend. Besides the weather has to be much, much better, and remember both teams are allotted the same number of tickets.

GBR!!!

Finally...someone with some sensibility. Good post.

I would like my team to be the first to get their asses kicked by OU or UT this year in that place...lol

That comment speaks volumes to where you guys are as a program
Do you think you will fare better? There is a tremendous talent gap with UT/OU and the little sisters of the poor, I am a realist, you all are not much closer to them then we are. This isn't 1995 it is 2009.
Yeah, Nebraska would fare better against Texas than Colorado would.

It could only help out recruiting under our newish HC, that is where it all starts-right?

edit: if we make it that far, but we all know we will consistantly be back in the big 12 champ. game.

ya im a koolaid drinker.

Not sure about that, I think that would depend on who has a better track record in defeating ranked teams in recent history.

For the team I have to agree with alot of the points made by BB that this will benefit us in many ways.

For me it is awesome as it is just a 3 hour drive down 35.

It's not a matter of who will do better or worse. I would never concede defeat to any team prior to the game being played. Being a realist of where the program is does not mean to lay down and accept an arse whooping.
