Whitlock is IMO generaly a tool, but makes some valid points and makes sense of the situation...

Oh boy...I should have read who wrote that. Whitlock is a clown so now I am not so surprised. That is pretty classy to talk about another man's weight like that. What an a**! Oh yeah his weight is why he can't win football games :sarcasm
Edit- Oh and that isn't directed at any of you...nobody cares what people say on message boards. This guy is saying it in a newspaper, which he gets paid for, so that is why I am going after him haha.

i do not usually agree with whitlock but this article is spot on, imo.
i am in no way shape or form that a fat guy but i can understand why it would make you a depressed and angry person.
whitlock is saying that the weight is causing mangino to be an angry and abusive person, which is causing him to abuse players....which is causing him to lose his job.....
Lawrence Journal World has updated their story, this all started with a poke in the chest? A freaking poke in the chest? No wonder they're 1-5 in the Big 12 if they have pansies like this running around the school. If there's no more than a poke involved, Mangino should not lose his job. Otherwise Bo should be fired for grabbing facemasks, and i'm sure he's poked a kid or two in the chest while getting a point across.

The weight is causing him to be angry is what he thinks? Me personally I have my opinion and you have yours so don't think I am arguing with your point of view...but I believe everyone has the ability to control emotions. Some people just don't know how to...I hate it when people place blame on stuff like I have a slow metabolism so that is why I am overweight (just an example of what I am trying to say). You control your actions, being overweight does not make you depressed or angry...you make yourself depressed or angry imo.
From what I hear Mangino is done at KU.
Someone mentioned earlier in the thread about domestic issues at Mangino's house and from what I've heard that is playing a major part in this thing. Also people are wearing thin of Mangino's explosive temper. Guys on the team can take an a$$ chewing but Mangino has had a history of taking it too far. He's also thrown some players under the bus which has really distanced himself from a lot of guys in the locker room.
Mangino has done a lot of wonderful things for KU. They're definitely a better program now than when he took over. But KU has also put a lot of money into the program and they're expecting better results. This is a much more attractive job than what it was a few years ago.
Also, from what I hear, Gill is a name floating around for replacing Mangino. I seriously doubt Leach would take the job considering him and Mangino are good friends. Also, Patterson would most likely have more interest in the KState job than the KU job.

This is a vry ugly situation. I can't see him keeping his job after this. And I don't unserstand wittlock's logic behind no job offers after the orange bowl win due to his weight he needs sources that teams showed a lack of intrest because of his weight. This is my main problem with him he wsants people to take things as gospel just because he said them. Gary Pinkel has an eqully good season did he get va bunch of job offers I'm not aware of?
