Mangino

Can' remember anyone saying what a horrible coach he was when they were 11-1 with a BCS win.... <_<

Yeah this article swung me to the position that he should be fired. Ku Fans are dillusional on who they think will come to KU

I was told last night by someone in the KU family (a student assistant) that Mangino is gone and will receive the full $6 million left on his contract.

Not sure I believe the dollar amount but could be true.

If so on the money, good for Mangino and his tough love.

Apparently Mangino has some serious issues. I wonder if they started after he found the look-a-like page....... probably hard to recover from seeing yourself as the planet Uranus or blowing giant farts of fire. :rollin

removing nonsense and asking, who would you want on your team?

Dan Hawkins or Mark Mangino?

I must admit after hearing the first complaints i thought mangino had crossed the line with what he was accused of saying, but the physical complaints seemed alittle petty. IF this is just one example of what he did to players then he needs to go.

Being tough of kids is one thing, this is another.

True, coaches always walk that fine line between hurt and injured, and for the kid who got burned and not given time to heal, i don't see how that was helping anyone. Yes a lot of players play hurt but something like that is never going to heal with constant beating, wrapped or not. I do think the timing of this whole situation is strange though... <_<

I dont know if its strange. Its a situation when you dont like some one, or have issues with someone there is a time to speak up. IF you are a player and your coach did this stuff to you, and it just happens to be the best season ever for your school. Your coach is heralded as a hero and the biggest thing to hit campus. Would you be the one to step up or speak out??

Its easy when everyone is throwing shots to speak the truth. Its much harder when you are the only one standing. Doesnt make it right. These players should have come forward much earlier. But they didnt. It does show the strenght of character, or lack there of, of the ku players though

How a guy that huge manages to teach any form of discipline to his players in the first place is miraculous. But this is torture. If this story is 100% factually accurate, I'd say Mangino should count himself lucky to be able to walk away. You have to ask yourself what else hasn't been reported?

IMO I think Kansas is trying to do their investigation and then Fire him with cause in order to prevent paying him the balance of his contract. Then AR's people can hash out a settlement and they can try to find a guy half the size of Mangino. :thumbs
