You know what I meant.Wow, this is getting interesting...
It looks like one thing is for sure at this point: Tebow and Spiller will not get invites to NYC.
Tebow as a previous winner gets an automatic invite to the ceremony.
Regardless, they'll probably announce him as a finalist for posterity.
LOLHe'll probably be crying in the background....All I know for sure is previous winners get a vote, I don't know about getting invited.
They are invited to attend the ceremony // be in the background behind the players, if he isn't high enough on ballots to be in the top 3-5, he will be at the ceremony.. just sitting in the background with the other previous winners who choose to attend.
My understanding, with nothing to quote here, is that Tebow doesn't get a vote because he's still playing. I saw that Bradford voted for McCoy, so maybe that's not true.
Anyone got a quote or a link to the voting rules?

OK, thanks. I didn't know if that was true, but I remember hearing it somewhere.Under the website (stiffarmtrophy.com) they have past results by year. Click on '2008'.....scroll down to where it says; 'View the complete list of the 530+ official voters' or you can just go HERE and do it. Tim Tebow was listed as a voter in 2008.
I believe the previous years winner gets to vote the following year.Under the website (stiffarmtrophy.com) they have past results by year. I was stating that as long as he has more votes, not just #1 votes, that he will win. That is exactly the case now. I think we're on the same page just stating it differently. I'm well aware that a person can lose and have more votes 1st place votes than anybody else. It's the total number of votes that are key. As long as he continues to receive votes, as he is currently doing, he'll do just fine. GBR and GO SUH!!!I might not understanding what you are saying . . . but the number of first place votes isn't all that matters. I believe that the second and third place votes also go towards your total. Suh could easily have the most first place votes and not win.But Suh still has more votes. If he continues to receive and in the end receives more votes, the difference between 2's and 3's won't matter. That's not the problem. The problem is that Gerhart is pretty much everyone's #2, while Suh is either getting first place votes or really no votes.Assuming its legit...
Suh 20 1st place votes
Gerheart 8 1st place votes
McCoy 7 1st place votes
Ingram 3 1st place votes
Tebow 3 1st place votes
Gerhart has has 15 #2 & #3 votes. Suh has 8. That's where he'll lose it.
