Holiday Greetings! Join me in saying 3 nice things

So it's the holiday season and even though I'm not religious I like to take time each year to reflect upon the year and do, say, or in this case type something nice since I'm an opinionated intolerable a$$hole most of the year. It's kind of like an end of year reconciliation if you will.

So I will take time to say 3 nice things about 3 not so nice College football programs that I despise.

First up, The University of Colorado.

Colorado has one of the most beautiful backdrops in all of college football. A picturesque scene of a college football game.

Colorado has won a National championship (and it's even in the modern era of football) which sets them in a league among the elite in the BIG XII and all of college football. Only 5 schools in the BIG XII can claim it!

CU Alumn Cordell Stewart was a good quarterback.

Next, The University of Miami.

Miami has a legacy that is enviable of most college football programs. Making them a dynasty.

Miami football teams have always been fierce competitors. Even when they are down and they suck they have managed to pull of huge upsets.

UM Alumn Warren Sapp is a decent football player.

Finally The University of Texas

The University of Texas fans have a passion for their time similiar to that of Nebraska fans. I can respect that.

The University of Texas competes at a consistent level year in and year out. They are a formidable opponet.

Darrell Royal is a legend in college football coaching and helped pave the foundation for the success Texas enjoys today.

Okay, some of that was excruciating. Thinking of nice things about "The U" was the most difficult..

Hope you all will join me in sharing three things yourself!

Anyway.. Here is to a Happy Solstice!

Kansas

Kansas has won a BCS bowl on the modern era

Kansas's Todd Reising was a good quarterback.

Even if their football sucks occasionally, their basketball is always good.

<_<

Notre Dame:

They know when it is time to fire their coach

Their AD is a good guy (friend of mine)

Their recruiting is top-notch

Catholics vs. Convicts was one of the best rivalries of all time

They have a ton of tradition.

Notre Dame:

They set the standard for all other success at the college level

They have a nation wide fan base

Their opponent on Saturdays has consistently been my second favorite team since I can remember

They cannot hire a coach so they have made football season very enjoyable for nearly 15 years

Michigan

They have more wins than anyone in CFB history

Their fight song is wicked awesome

They have cool helmets

Charles Woodson is a great Packer

USC

Pete Carroll is a great recruiter and good game planner for Defense

They do a good job locking up So California in recruiting

Their cheerleaders are really hot, love me some songbirds

They really know how to cover up NCAA violations, stuff of legend actually.

Wow, Notre Dame and Michigan would have made my honorable mention list too.

A Nice thing about both from me.

Michigan: You have awesome tradition and an awesome stadium.

Notre Dame: Rudy was a good movie.

Notre Dame is college football, they set the standard of the game.

Michigan, not many days better than being at a game in Ann Arbor.

SC, oh my god the Song Girls, and then there are the Song Girls, and can not forget to mention the Song Girls, did I mention the Song Girls?

Texas, is just Nebraska with a lot more money.

Alabama, I'm glad to see that they are back.

Missouri ..................................................... ( ) <----Insert the sound of my brain frying and my hairs splitting.

Missouri -

1. Their fans attend games when they crack the top 15... that one time

2. Gary Pinkle is more tolerable than Dan Hawkins.

3. Sean Weatherspoon is a damn fine football player.

I think I got at least one good on in there.

Nebraska.

You aren't force-fed Runza's (at least not in plain sight)

You'll probably sit cheek to cheek with a female in the stands... also arm to arm, side to side, back to front, front to back and head to head.

They have those thingees to scrape bull crap off your boots before entering the stadium.

Kansas-

1. Their colors are like the US flag. And who here doesnt like America??

2. I used to work with a KU grad and cheerleader. She was dumb as a rock but nice to look at.

3. With so many silver-spooned Johnson county KS kids going there, they have nice cars.

Iowa:

1. They are smart enough to at least geographically be similar to Nebraska

2. They have had a player win the Heisman, albeit in the 1930s

3. Way back when, they were also smart enough to have Bo.

1. USC- They have hot cheerleaders

2. Texas- See #1

3. Iowa- As much to my bad taste for Hawkeye fans, i would like for you to win a NC sometime in my lifetime so you can quit trying to compare yourself to NU when you can't get it done. :)

Georgia Tech - You keep all of the REALLY nerdy/douchey kids and ugly girls away from Athens

Colorado - You keep a lot of the hippies away from me

Rutgers - You help keep the cast of Jersey Shore away from me
