I'll start by saying Gale Sayers.

Although he was born in Wichita,

he was raised in Omaha and

graduated from Central.

Ron Kellog (Basketball)

... others??

Coach Ekeler went to KSU. He was born in David City but graduated from Blair High School. He played on the '88 State Championship team.

My dad used to tell me a story that a big reason that Sayers didn't go to Nebraska was because of a party he went to on his recruiting visit. Apparently, he came with a friend to a fraternity house and while he was taken upstairs to the festivities, his friend (who was also black) was not invited up througout the entire party. This seemingly obvious racism apparently turned him off from the Huskers. Of course, who knows if this story is 100% true, but I've heard it confirmed from uncles on the other side of the family. Too bad, that 99 yard TD probably hurt.

Omon was born in California and grew up in Lawrence, KS. He didn't move to Beatrice until he was freshman in high school.

There was a kid who went to Central that chose Miami over us. Can't remember his name though. Harland Gunn or something?
Yep that's his name.

The Iowa pipeline to the area. From Millard North they took: Jeff Tarpinian, seth olsen, Adam Shada (seems like i'm forgetting one) And they took the Prater brothers from Central.

Stevie Hicks (RIP) from prep, went to Iowa State. He was a stud

Initally, Scott Frost

There was also a kid in the mid to late 90's out of Omaha that went to Notre Dame. Safety, I think.

Also a kid out of Utica that went to K-state as a center. Early 90s, first name Quentin and started for at least two years.

Both pre-google
