Maybe my numbers are off a bit but...

Last I remember we had the #2 scoring defense and Alabama was #1

How many points does Tex need to put on Alabama for use to overtake that category (though personally I mildly hope Alabama wins)

Our defense rocks, Damn excited about where this coaching staff is headed

On a side note, I was thrilled to see Lee finally pulling the rock down and running when the pass optioned didn't look good.

4 pts.

More than 3 would do it, but are bowl stats included? I checked Yahoo stats and for the 2008 season it doesn't look like the bowls are included. Most teams only have 12 games except for those in their CCG.

individual stats from bowls count to season totals...i'd be shocked if teams stats werent as well.

I just checked the official NCAA stats site and you are right, bowl games are included for both individual and team stats. Yahoo included them for individual but not team, at least in the couple of categories I looked at, not sure why.

Has there ever been a 4 loss team with a #1 scoring defense? :dunno

i didnt go back very far (1999), as it started getting tedious, but the closest i saw was VT in 2006, who lost 3 games.

funny enough in 2003 we were second, behind muschamp led LSU D, and had 3 losses.

I brought up the fact that we only needed Texas to score 4pts to be considered the number 1 scoring defense and no one seemed to care then. Now we have a thread with multiple posts about it. SOB....... screw you guys I'm going home. :sarcasm At least we will more than likely be number 1 in something more than just the north this year.

Top five scoring defenses of the DECADE (assuming Texas scores at least four points):

1. 2008 USC (9.0)

2. 2001 Miami (9.4)

3. 2000 TCU (9.6)

4. 2000 FSU (10.3)

5. 2009 Nebraska (10.4)
