Lane Kiffin to USC

Tennessee's Lane Kiffin has agreed in principle to become the next head coach at Southern California, sources close to the situation told ESPN.com's Chris Low on Tuesday.

Kiffin would replace Pete Carroll, who jumped to the NFL as coach of the Seattle Seahawks.

Kiffin, the former Oakland Raiders coach, led the Volunteers for only one season.

According to the sources, Kiffin will bring his father and defensive coordinator, Monte Kiffin, and assistant head coach and recruiting coordinator Ed Orgeron to Southern Cal with him, and wide receivers coach Kippy Brown will be named interim head coach at Tennessee.

:o

Didn't see this coming at all. This will cause a recruiting shake up.

That is a total slap in the face manuver to Carroll. Those two hated each other and Kiffin was due to be fired before he took the Raider job.

What a puke..

do Tennessee and USC play each other any time in the next four years? I would really love to see the players he recruited there kick him in the butt for pulling something like this.

WOw- so did not see this one coming. I don't even know what to think except he should be ok with the NCAA investigation see'n how he may of got Tennessee into so warm water.

It would be nice to see, other than getting fired, a coach unable to transfer to another school without sitting out one year (without being at the school for at least 4 years). Players can't pull this kind of crap!
