Are we going to the Big 10?

Do you think the Big 10 has already sent out the offer to Nebraska?

I think that an "offer" has been sent although not an official one. Nothing official can be done until after the B10 presidents meeting here in a few weeks (think it is going on the same time as the B12 meetings)

I believe something is on the table for Mizzou and/or Nebraska. Its just now down to details and how the Big 12 is gonna react to possibility of finding replacements if they are at all. I think the fact the Beebe and Delaney have talked means that this envitable and are working together to figure out whats the best for both conferences.

I think they've sent out an offer but not an official invite, that way pearlman can bullsh#t to bebe without actually lying.

If there had been a 90% option, I would have chosen that. I don't think an offer nor an invite has been made yet, however I have notice that the "we haven't been contacted" talk that we had been hearing from Pearlman and Osborne seems to have stopped.

The reason there has not been anymore of that talk is because in the last statement from the university they stated that there would be no more comments about it until if and when there was something to comment on. They are playing it really close to the vest and just don't want the daily hounding for comment.

I think it's time we just go along with the fact (yes, fact) that something is about to happen that will change the face of college athletics, and it's more than nebraska and/or missouri goin to the Big 10(13)??? . There are going to be multiple moves and it's just the way the business works, cuz hey, thats all college athletics are anymore, way more than they ever were.

TO and Perlman are smart to play it close to vest. Beebe should flap his jaws less and work more on giving Neb reason to stay. If Neb does have an implied offer on the table he doesn't have much time.

I think its already a lock that we're heading to the Big 10. If you've paid close attention to the reports of 4 teams getting invites, Barbies (Beebe) comments, and reading in between the lines on what Tom Osborne and Perlman have replied back about the Big 10 expansion and the false accusations of the invite from the Big 10.

Nebraska would be stupid not to go to the Big 10 if invited which I strongly believe that we've gotten the invite at this point way to early. Money doesn't grow on trees so an opportunity like this to be offered to join the Big 10 and earn an EQUAL share from the Big 10 network up to 22 million a year you'd be dumb enough not to take it because the things are shaping up in college football is national exposure and MONEY.

The Big 10 wants all of its Universities to be successful on the field/court and not just one to two or even three schools to be successful.

they wont send an "offer". you have to apply to become a member of the big 10, so they may ask us to apply but they wont extent an offer until after we have been accepted...

Well, Nebraska could be playing it like a fox, too. Thinking that they could go into the Big XII meetings with some leverage to get Texas to back down a little and distribute the wealth a little more evenly. But honestly, I think this is a no brainer, and we are headed to the Big 10, I think it is in the best interest of the university, the football program, and the fans. I see the Big XII as a dying conference at the rate they are going. There are no teams that they can bring in realistically that can make it a more attractive conference. As long as we are in the Big XII, our poll numbers will be held down (not that I am a big supporter of polls, mind you, but they are the reality), and we will be more limited on where and who we recruit.

I have made up my mind that this is a done deal, especially after Beebe's comments on the radio. He sounded like a guy that was pissed off at the reality that his world was about to crumble and there wasn't much he could do about it.

We will have no leverage just like has been at the Big XII meeting. I think the conference championship game vote says everything.
Honestly, I tend to agree whole heartedly, if we had any leverage, we would have already used it in conjunction with some of the other teams in the conference that have been slighted by "special deals and considerations" given.

Right the schools have to apply, but Delany probably hand delivered the application with sticky note on it that said, "We want you."

I'm just sold on the fact that Osborne saw this coming 15 years ago before the inaugural Big 12 athletic season. A conference cannot build its regime around 1-4 schools as the Big 12 did. And what makes me even more bitter is the fact that they brought 4 schools into the core Big 8, which was growing more and more successful WITHOUT the Tex-asses, and proceeded to take over and get their way. Isnt it funny how when the Big 12 started, Texas and Oklahoma, etc were a step behind the North and now it's more than flipped over a decade later.
