Being mentioned in the Heisman race this early means nothing (see Locker). It will be another story though if he produces dominant numbers in conference play and those dominant numbers result of more Ws (see Suh).

We all know that if he keeps this up, and the more press he gets, the better his chances.

One cool thing in these cases to watch is the "google trends". This one compares searches for T-Magic and the other top candidates over the last 30 days. This last week saw a good up-tick for Taylor, he gets more search hits now than Mallett or Pryor. Only Robinson is ahead of him.

Now that the ball is rolling, this weekend could do a lot to push him further into the heisman talk. If he rushes for something ridiculous like 200 yards (easily possible against SDSU) and throws for another 200+ I see his stock moving up to the top 5 going into conference play. The game against Texas and the Big12 CCG will determine his heisman hopes. Two huge games in the national spotlight would boost his image.

I think that pic is the play TM and MM collided. It was kinda funny, except for the fact TM had just kicked it into 4th gear and woulda scored another long TD.
