Cody Green

Green has all the tools, just needs sharpened. I was also surprised that Zac never got the call. Green missed a few open receivers, but did not really expect anything out of him when he came in. It will be a great off season for all the Qb's this offseason, it will come down to who wants it more.

 
Neither qb seemed ready last night, one more reason to can Wats. TM should've been blitzed and coached in practice til he adjusted better(hot-routes/ditching ball/moving better) or it was made apparent you can't play him. Green knew what he was doing but a guy pulled out of the crowd could've hit his target better. Ball after ball sailed on him, nerves still seem to be an issue.

 
Green missed some receivers that were wide open. As always he showed "signs" of development, but couldn't quite put all the pieces together. It didn't help that he had to go into the game at a crap time.

Did you not hear? Its against the rules to put your best throwing quarterback in the game, during throwing situations. :facepalm:

I dont know if Zac is still injured, but from what I hear he was chucking balls 50 yards before the CCG.

He's not. In fact Lee is as heathy as horse.

As for Green - he's not a great QB. However he would be a lot more productive if Watson would call plays that are designed/ suited for HIS skills and abilities.

I have a great idea. Why don't we start someone totally new next year? Then, we can have a brand new starting QB in each of Bo's first four years of being a HC. It has worked spectacular so far.

From the Missouri game on Taylor ran the ball 62 times for a total of 95 yards, that's an average of 1.5 YPC. After having a 9-3 TD\INT ratio in the first 8 games of the year, he finished 1/4 in his last 4 games.

After the K-State game Taylor's longest run was 26 yards, and he never found the end zone again.

And all of those games he was injured???? AND he was only 30 or 40 yards away from being the 3rd Freshman QB in FBS HISTORY to run and throw for over 1000 yards. He played well for us as a freshman, i didnt hear any complaints when he threw for over 400 yards and 5 tds to beat OKST.

That being said i still dont know if he can be "the guy" to take us to the promise land, but lets not forget that he showed some good potential out there. Whether or not he goes into the off season and puts in the effort to get better is yet to be seen. From the looks of it, he might be the kind of guy that thinks he is all that, and doesnt need to watch film or work hard because he thinks he will just out run everyone. I hope thats not that case and Bo can straigten him out. If not well move on to the next guy thats not as fast as taylor but works 10 times harder(cody green)...which is what NU football is all about.

Over 400 yards throwing against OSU? Might go back and check that one. My point is, injured or not, teams figured out how to take Taylor out of the game. When Taylor struggles, he presses more, he flips balls down field, gets happy feet in the pocket but won't run. And generall looks like crap. A lot of that can be attributed to the ankle, but most of it can be attributed to him not being prepared to play.

I think that if you let him get settled in, those passes start to hit the targets throughout the game.

Yes, its more important that we stick to our guns and offensive scheme and start a kid that can't do the only thing he was good at. Women and children to the lifeboats, FULL STEAM AHEAD!

323 my bad...i agree i have facepalmed alot of things hes done. I also think there is real talent there, he threw well against OSU, made some really good passes. Having to throw off that ankle is making all of his passes sail high, because he isnt driving off his bad ankle. I think he could have broke a few of those runs when he got away last night, just didnt have all his speed back yet. I guess im just being postitve, you can see the talent there, i just hope he works hard this off season to develope it, and doesnt feel entitled because of the early success....which seems to be the case.
