Missouri 2010 Big 12 North Champions.

Heisman Trophy Winner
They have officially hung a banner in their practice facility. :laughpound

PLEASE tell me Nebraska doesn't have Big 12 North champion banners when we didn't play in the title game!

Thats just pathetic. But, we are dealing with a school that doesnt have alot in their trophy case, so pack it full of moral victories and enjoy!

True, true.

Did you know that Suh has more individual trophies than every player in Missouri history combined? How awesome is that?

We have championship trophies for every Big XII North title, won outright or shared - even the ones where another school won the tiebreaker and represented the North in the CCG.

The HUGE difference is that we don't put ours on display. If you go to the trophy area you won't find them. If you ask to see them, they'll tell you they aren't on public display; we keep them in the inner offices of the football staff, away from the public.

It's just an example of how teams view these things. To be a champion you have to think like a champion, and making rings and hanging banners for a co-championship you lost isn't championship thinking.

I think this whole "co-champion" thing in this case is complete bs. even in 08 when we were "co-champions" it was bs. We beat Missouri, on the field, head to head. They are not co-champions. They are 2nd place. Plain and simple. In 06, when a 1 loss florida beat and indefeated Ohio st. in the bcs game, how's come Ohio St was not named "co-national champions" Yes, it is the same comparison.

You're right on all accounts. The fact is, somebody somewhere will almost always find a different "champion." It's up to the integrity of the school whether they claim that championship or not.

Wikipedia has a list of all the D1 national champions over the years. By this count, Nebraska has 11 national championships - but you'll never see a banner or a trophy on public display for our "championships" from 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984 etc.

The ol scarlet and cream had a 5-peat in the early 80's. Nice.
