Paul and Gomes Washington

Funny about Gomes. Nobody had much to say about him after the combine. I wondered whether he'd get drafted or be a free agent. I figured someone would pick him late on day 3 and get a steal. Then, BOOM, he gets snapped up mid 5th round. He'll be solid in the NFL. The guy is a player.

Still waiting on some team to do the right thing and pick Hagg. I'm shocked he didn't go in the 6th.

McNeil, Smith, and Allen, should all still be drafted. I hope. It's looking like a long shot, but they SHOULD be, in my opinion.

Paul will never stick, he was too inconsistent at NU, never lived up to his potential or never had much to begin with...

Could careless about paul, but am happy for Gnomes. I hope he and Roy kick it off next year. Lets just hope the REDskins gets a better QB.

McNeil should have been drafted, he's got the talent. But I'm not the least bit surprised he wasn't. Watson did everything in his power to make him irrelevant the last two seasons.

I was being sarcastic. I know he didn't go out of his way to make him irrelevant. But he sure did a fantastic job of doing it.

Taylor did by not using the check-down all year.

Not really a total fault of Taylor as we went to a different style of offense, but there are just fewer passes to go around. Happens when your passing percentage falls dramatically. And McNeil often served in that checkdown role where I think he coulda made a killing, but wasn't really featured.

2009 also had an offensive change that involved the passing % going way down, and a QB with an injured throwing arm.

That was the year Paul became relevant.

In 2008, Watson was the one that made McNeil relevant in the first place. He flourished in a system Bo chose to move away from. Better for the entire team? possibly, yet to be seen, but looks very promising. But certain players getting caught in the transition? Unsurprising.

Yeah, I think we're both just bummed about McNeil's downward draft stock the past few years. Peace.
