Jim Delany calls Huskers "The Packers of the Big Ten"

Alot of blabby and praise once again and putting to rest the notion that if we were not apart of the AAU to begin with, The Big Ten would have still wanted us.

Huskers are like the hot chick who is missing a foot and the Big Ten says "your still hot to me".

What really interested me, was mentioned that TD Ameritrade park could be a future place to play the Big Ten Baseball tournament. The Qwest center was mentioned for the Big Ten Basketball tournament which sounded a little off to me, why not mentioning the new Haymarket Arena? But Delaney made it a point that they wanted to bridge out to places like Chicago or Indianapolis which i think is cool too.

More like the hot chick that had big boobs and then got a breast reduction. She stills turns your head, but instead of thinking about fantasies every minute, its every couple of hours.

he said. "I haven't heard a negative thing from fans, coaches, administrators, presidents, everybody."

Delany must not have been on Iowa's forums or he would have rephrased the fans part (since we are the cause to everything that changed in their eyes).

But do agree that it would be awesome if they had the Baseball in Omaha. Atleast it will give purpose of building the damn thing anyway.

Can Eric Olson write an article about the Huskers without putting some sh#t in it? The guy doesn't seem to be able to help himself. Every single article has some snide comment, some insinuation, something that detracts from the team.

This is our designated AP guy. Can't they find someone without an agenda? This guy annoys me.

Besides Creighton using it and the College World Series, yea it would be nice to have an added event that will draw many fans from all over the midwest to Omaha. On Husker Sports Nightly tonight, they mentioned throwing the ballpark in Des Moines into the mix. Right now it is played in Columbus, Ohio. I'd rather take Columbus, Ohio and Omaha, Nebraska than putting Des Moines, IA into the mix as a third spot, two spots are enough.

I would take alternating Omaha and Des Moines. I think that would please most of the fans/schools.

What cracks me up is, we really aren't even in the conference, let alone, played a game....

Don't we have to play some games on the "frozen tundra" of Memorial Stadium, before we can lay claim to that title...

This is awesome. My girl is a huge Packer fan, but wasn't a big fan of college football generally. In the process of persuading her to love the Huskers, I told her that the Huskers are like the Packers of college football. That was 5 months ago. Glad to see that great minds think alike.

I think the Nighthawks are playing there too, but Im not 100%.

I'm pretty sure the Qwest Center is still going to be a superior venue to the Haymarket Arena.

Furthermore, Omaha dwarfs Lincoln for downtown hotels and touristic attractions.

For those two reasons that's why I think Omaha is a more valued prize than Lincoln.

I don't know how to multi-quote, so i'm posting twice.

I wasn't Des Moines wasn't nice, they have Adventureland. I wish we had a full size amusement park out here (Thought they were building one in Council Bluffs). I'm just saying that alternating a championship/tournament between locales seems too random, two places to me is a limit. I don't really care where they have them at, whethers its Omaha/Des Moines, Columbus/Des Moines, or Omaha/Columbus; its all the same to me, just as long as it is two locales, not three.

I'm sure IF a tournament game, any tournament game were to played in Lincoln it would generate a large enough fan base to bring in and income to expand building, both downtown and rural. The only big thing that really happens in Lincoln is Husker Football. I know, i lived in Lincoln, lol.

Wisconsin. That's the Packers of the Big 10. Green Bay and its traditions are unique to that state. Watch a Wisconsin game and notice how many fans are wearing the cheese head thing.
