It really isn't difficult to understand at all. Lockers strength was his athleticism. He was dangerous on his feet and opposing defenses always had to be accountable to that fact. He was NEVER passer. He played the wishbone in high school and that idiot Willingham basically used him as a running back. He made the occasional throw, and definitely had a cannon, but he was never really accurate or consistent.
Price, on the other hand, is less athletic but MUCH more efficient. He plays the QB position like a point guard, and understands how to use the weapons around him. The upgrade doesn't come just at the QB position, it comes with the entire offense because it no longer depends on one person. Price knows how to sling and distribute.
And Miamihurrcans2001, congrats on perhaps the single dumbest post I've read on any board. Locker was getting national hype before the season started, but that faded quickly. I find it hilarious that you equate media hype with actual productivity. You actually think our offense is going to be worse than last year, because of the hoopla that in the end proved to be ill-advised. That's logic at it's best boys and girls...
If you think we have a weak passing attack, then you're just ignorant to the facts, and probably should pull your head out before psoting. Our QB has one of the highest efficency ratings in the nation, and threw for over 300 yards last weak when Sark finally let him go. He is more accurate and maybe even reads the defenses better than Locker.
And LOL at you listing lack of game tape as a reason to be excited. Do you have hours of film on our QB or something? Do you have enough info to predict how he will react to certain situations or which covergaes will confuse him? LOL, sit down child.
