NU 90's reminds me of Bama now

I never imagined the Huskers 90's run would be matched.

I am reconsidering, as I watch them humiliate Michigan. Is MU overrated? I really don't think so. Maybe a little, but it IS Michigan, you expect great things from them.

I see Bama dominating in the same manner NU whipped Florida.

Bama has played for a couple championships in the last couple years and could be there again this year.

It is like watching pro-bowlers against middle school kids. Okay, big exaggeration, but the Bama team is flat-out amazing. If T-Mart keeps up the good work, we could face these guys. I love the idea of being in the MNC, and I know it is WAY too early to even suggest such a thing, but whoever ends up there--if playing Bama--is going to have a tall mountain to climb.

The Bama team is fun to watch, in the way the Huskers were in the 90's as well. It is pure brute force, and they simply WILL NOT be stopped.

Your thoughts?

Bama is for real- I was almost thinking the same thing as I am watching- but it is the start of the season and Robinson may be color blind with some of those picks he has thrown. If they win out, I would imagine we could lose that title of greatest team in modern history. Times have changed, but a lot of season remains.

Saban is a great coach, there's no denying that. But he's also a snake.

NU of the 90's did things the right way. We didn't stockpile talent by oversigning the crap out of guys and then keeping the ones we want later on. Pretty crappy way to build a dynasty, IMHO. That's one thing Bama will never have on us.

I'm a firm believer, the SEC as a whole will eventually be exposed that will really hurt the conference, etc. Can't pin my finger on it just yet but I have to think there's a ton of shady deals going on behind closed doors. It's not like one or two teams are good, the whole damn conference is strong. Something slim-shady is going on.

Careful, there dudeguyy. We did things the "right way" by our standards of the time.

Don't want anyone pulling the 'ole LP card from the deck.

HuskerinOkie, I am inclined to agree. What is happening in the SEC right now smells an awful lot like the old SWC. Time will tell. CFB is certainly a stimulant to the booster with a lot of money in a small pond. Win at all costs has been proven to work. I have no real proof, only a feeling.

Sure, the SEC could be THAT good, but Occam's Razor probably applies here as well as anywhere.

They have a huge advantage geographically speaking. Also, oversigning.

I have a really bad memory... Oversigning isn't occurring anymore correct? Perhaps in a few years we'll start seeing the effects of that change and some more balance between conferences.

God forbid someone try to bring up the guy that missed most of the 95 season. The one that was clearly obvious we did NOT have to have to beat Florida.

Michigan is overrated. It's obvious. Bama is very VERY good. But Michigan is pretty much in the same boat as Michigan St to me only the other way around. They lost a bit of keys on defense. Based on this first weekend, the legends is ours to lose at this point.

I thought it still happened, it sure did in 11. I think the SEC did put out new rules though. I have an equally poor memory.

Crap I thought they got rid of it altogether 2 years ago. Well that sucks if that's not the case.

I really could be wrong on that one...don't keep up on the topic much.
