  1. It's a kind of a hard choice decision. So many heart breaking, soul crushing losses.
  2. UCF has been playing sound football against 2 decent teams and 1 OK team. They just looked like a better-coached team than Nebraska does right now I think. But are they coached so much better than us they could beat Nebraska with the talent discrepancy there is?? Not sure
  3. When Coach Riley was hired, I was surprised. Not because I didn't think it was a good hire, but because I never thought he'd leave Corvallis. Oregon State and TCU are my "secondary teams", and I was hoping to see NU hire a coach from my secondary teams. I was thinking Gary Patterson though. That being said, when the hire was announced, I thought it was a home run. If Riley could put together those teams in Corvallis that had way more NFL talent than they should have; what could he do in Lincoln? Turns out, pretty much the same. I contributed to the Tanner Lee hype. I got sucked into the same thing others did; he looks great in a helmet a shorts. He's not so great in a full uniform. I bought into the Diaco hype. After Banker, what could be worse? Well... I thought Cav needed to hit the pavement last year. But up until today, I have been an ardent Mike Riley supporter. So, here I am, requesting my crow. The Riley hire was the wrong hire. Now let's make the right move. Fast.
  4. I want this to be a serious thread for all questions relating to SF's future. What are the chances he does well at UCF? What are the chances he ends up at Nebraska? Can he recruit to a school that doesn't have the College of Nike Apparel appeal? Just wanted to hear other people's thoughts. Also, I'm currently a freshmen at UNL and was wondering if anyone else on HB is currently at UNL, or if it is all older fans that remember the good ol' days? I'd love to see the differences in opinions between generations. Oh, and GBR!
  5. "Through my years in coaching, I can almost pick out the guys who have a marijuana problem," Riley said. "You give me three weeks with a team and, if you've got five guys, I could get three or four of them." http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/14449159/many-power-five-schools-step-pot-easement-trend
  6. 12. Mike Riley, Nebraska Riley is no stranger to coaching on the professional level. He had a disastrous stint running the San Diego Chargers but won two Grey Cups while in charge of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the CFL. His pro-style system would translate seamlessly to the NFL and his nice-guy persona could serve as a nice foil to some of the more hardline personalities in the pro game. I am happy to see our coach on the list. http://www.nfl.com/photoessays/0ap3000000495537
